Trump trashes his convention speech...softer message coming?

Why shouldn't Trump tone it down? He is a martyr now and the election is effectively over. Trump can cruise with his cult while Biden will be one pathetic sight (as if he wasn't already) from here on in.

 

I rather he'd give a speech conducive to applauding and not booing, personally.

Trump wins this election easily if he just tones down the rhetoric at this point. All he needs to do is sound less crazy for a few months and enough undecideds will go his way to win a state like Pennsylvania and he’s got it in the bag. Like others have said I’m hoping the brush with death will add some new perspective.

It very much sounds like all the people who actually thought Trump’s schtick was all an act, and he’d “pivot” and act Presidential starting in 2017. How’d that work out?

At this point it’s a delusional expectation. He can go days, maybe weeks at most. Basically next time he’s not center of attention or isn’t getting his way, the narcissstic sociopath comes out.

After 8 years of Trump spewing LIES, division, anger, hatred, and treason, we're supposed to believe there is a kinder, gentler wannabe dictator asking for our support???

To be fair, the Dems never gave him a chance to make that pivot, effectively declaring war on Trump the day he too office.

 

Trump has all but won the election. Even for us Never Trumpers, it is what it is. And so I for one am pleased to see he will tone town the rhetoric, and let’s see how he governs without a need to constantly fight everyone who disagrees with him.
