Running the Pentagon is not equal to being a soldier. That position should be reserved for those who have been high ranking officers or been a member of congress first. This guy is just a propaganda pusher.

 

But a guy who lied about his rank and quit on his reserve unit is fit to be VP???? Good grief, the leftie mind is something to behold.

There is no requirement for the Secretary of Defense to be a “high ranking officer”. It’s a civilian position.

In fact, the current Secretary had to get a waiver to a rule requiring they had to be out of uniform for 7 years before serving as SecDef.

That being said, I’m sure the norm was for people to have at least run some large entity before, or at least been involved in high levels of an administration relating to defense.
