Tough to tell whether that sentence makes sense or not without knowing more about what the “weapon of mass destruction” was. State statutes using words like that often don’t have the same meaning as you might commonly assume them to (for another example, many state laws about “launching missiles” include throwing rocks). And North Carolina’s “WMD” law appears to be similar:

    G.S. 14-288.8

That covers a lot of things. It clearly covers bombs, grenades, rockets, missiles, and mines. It also clearly covers a lot of illegally possessed NFA firearms (where you haven’t complied with federal law to own them). But (c)(2), if read literally, would also appear to cover potato guns.

Nah, he's right. It was just a drunken riot. Nothing more. Nothing less. To call it an insurrection would indicate a level of competency and intelligence that was nowhere near that place on Jan. 6.

That definition seems to be arbitrary, if it is in fact defined differently by each and every state or federal agency.

I would consider a dirty bomb made of fissile material... chemical and biological bombs as a WMD.

Trump shouts the same line at every rally “Democracy on the line”, “the country’s existence is on the line”, “if you don’t vote for me the world will end” is on the line.

Yes, of course it’s both sides. It’s the entire theme of this election— vote my way or be prepared to suffer in all eternity. But, the fear porn seems to be Trump’s most dominant theme

If I’m reading correctly, you actually think there’s a possibility this guy had a nuclear weapon and got probation? :emoji_joy:

Guy who tries to kill Trump turns out to hate Trump, so therefore the democrats need to do damage control? I’m not sure how that follows. Personal responsibility seems the obvious course. That dude performed the action, and it is that dude that needs to answer for it. If another person of any political persuasion comes out in support of the attempted assassination, it is those people that would need to answer for those words.

No! You are totally wrong again... as usual. Ben mentioned the definition of WMDs and I furthered that discussion... never once mentioned what that dude may have had or not had. You are inventing again.

I've said both sides need to tone it down. Are you really trying to say the left doesn't do this also? Do you really need examples?

State law can call it whatever they want.

North Carolina picked the words “weapons of mass death and destruction” to call the things covered by this statute. But what it bans isn’t what the media refers to as WMDs (nuclear/radiological/biological/chemical weapons). Instead, it covers explosives, a lot of what federal law would call “destructive devices,” at least some unregistered NFA firearms, and potentially - depending on how it is interpreted - some other random stuff that is federally not considered a weapon but potentially banned by North Carolina state law.
