I see you aren't reading all my posts. I said both sides have gone overboard on the rhetoric. Seems the left is fighting that contention on here vigorously.

He’s certainly not Hitler. I do think there is a disconnect between what Trump says and generally what people think he would do. It’s an interesting paradox where he was praised for telling it like it is, but then people also excuse what he says as him not really meaning it or that he wouldn’t actually do something.

Confess to not reading them all. I was responding to this one which was hardly about both sides. But I guess we agree that both sides throw tons of criticism and insults at the other and anyone who acts like it's all from one side is clearly subject to partisan blindness?

He's certainly a paradox. He's easily the funniest president, but has never told an actual joke and I cant think of him laughing at anything, ever. Being funny without possessing a sense of humor is an incredible feat.

Couple things -- most people are ignorant and your link didn't say that. You'd need to find a poll where the question was 'do you think Trump is a threat to democracy?'. Can you find a poll that asks that question? Because if after 2020, if you don't think Trump is a threat to democracy you're either a MAGA or a moron. I know that's a bit redundant but there are actually morons who aren't MAGA.

Agree 100%. Trump isn’t blameless whatsoever regarding the rhetoric. Both sides share the blame and the MSM is complicit as well. We have crap choices again for president.

I remember a discussion on NPR back in 2016 in which Trump was "praised" as a natural insult comedian. The commentator focused on his cadence, inflection and use of language and essentially declared Donald Trump a natural.

Someone probably mentioned it, but you might be confusing the poster with ETGator, who is a mod on Swampgas.

It’s unintentional humor. I do laugh at him quite a bit but I’d never say that he’s “funny.”

You guys are getting the politics you permit of each other and mark it up as freedom of speech.

I keep trying to remind myself that this - below - is a former president of the United States of America.
    Monday at 5pm.

You could literally write an essay about how inflammatory and based in some sort of warped reality this is. And the world continues to watch.

    Comrade? Rigged?
    Invade? Unpardonable sin?
    Rhetoric much?

He was stopped from doing the most egregious things he wanted to do by the grown ups in the room. Go read Mark Esper's comments.

They are training MAGAt troops now to fill the next administration and to ignore any laws that stand in their way. Educate yourself about Project 2025.

Yes, odd that a criminal with a severe personality disorder would be demanding deportation of same.

Limey my family is Canadian. I live in Florida and have many guns and have never committed a crime. I have a cousin in Canada that has maybe 30 rifles. He has never committed a crime. It is the person and their upbringing. Inflammatory rhetoric is what has caused this. You would be raising holy HELL if the shots would have been at your candidate but cheer on the assassination attempts at Trump. It is a damned good thing you were not taught to shoot at an early age. I could hit a squirrel in a tree at 10.

It will be interesting to see if the 2 assassination attempts are somehow related.

The first shooter lived in a GOP household and his Dad bought him an assault rifle AFTER he threatened his schoolmates. The second potential shooter is more of an RFK style nut job whose politics are all over the place.

One person has injected violence into the political sphere with his rhetoric--the republican nominee. After Vance got on the stump the other day and said to stop calling people fascists, the orange turd took the stage and called Kamala the same thing.

Ask anyone who has spoken out or taken action against Trump. They have all had to get private security thanks to death threats from MAGA deplorables.

Well, Putin is supporting the scarecrow so he would definitely like to see Trump out of the race. Maybe the dems have enlisted the help of the GRU, FSB, etc.
