Will be interesting to see if his support folds as he gets more unhinged or they solidify like another crazy ass leader’s did 90 years ago.

I mean, isn't this what SCOTUS ruled last year anyway?

Good question. I've also been wondering if all of us should do some kind of gesture to each other, just to kind of tell each other how happy we are with the direction our country's going, and with our leadership.

It could be anything really; a hand or arm gesture. Leg movement? Head wobble? Anything! Just to show our happiness, and that we agree!

In the meantime, maybe we should all once again wear those patches over our ears, until we find something more permanent? 20240718_212335.jpg

The country doesn't need " saving"... We are the most powerful country in the world by almost every measure.

There's no way anybody who is ok with that statement said by Trump would be ok with it if it was Biden, Obama, Harris, or the next liberal president. Is this the amount of power we want consolidated to a single person?

The only thing that will dent (not significantly reduce) his support will be a bad economy. Most people don’t tangibly feel impact of Doge cuts but they do feel impact of lost jobs, higher inflation, etc.

Saying it out loud now. Above the law, sort of like a king or an emperor. Exactly what the framers had in mind.. Also a dog whistle to his maga mob that they are not breaking the law if they are "saving the country".

I’ll be curious if anyone will try to defend or excuse this.

The only way any of this changes is if Republicans in both the house and senate stand up to Trump and Elon and say this ain’t how any of this is supposed to work. From what I’ve seen thus far I don’t see that happening

No need to be curious. Just go to the tweet and look at the comments. His supporters have bent their knee to him and pray to him. It was, well … odd reading their support, indeed admiration, to his comment and the philosophy itself.

I laughed atyour post because members of Congress have already demonstrated a total absence of backbone. Look no further than the Cabinet Confirmation hearings.

That will never happen. If any changes are to occur it won't include the gop. They are fully committed to the emperor.

The allegiance to Trump seems so much greater than any allegiance to the party, or anything it’s ever stood for.

That’s exactly what we would expect a surrender monkey like Trump to say. Liberals are like the 101st airborne at Bastogne….we don’t need Trump’s kind of saving.

100% agree! The supposed check and balancing are doing neither atm. However, a lot of Dems aren’t helping this as they’re also voting yes on many of these nominees.

Trump and Napoleon's stories do align, somewhat. Both were beaten, and sent off to exile, only to come back to the acclaim of their supporters and wreak further havoc.

Trump's Waterloo can't come soon enough.

So by this logic I guess Luigi Mangione should go free?
