Trump proposes more tax cuts - and no way to fund them

There is also that wing of the gop whose idea of addressing the deficit is to eliminate entire federal departments and programs. Pretty much keep defense spending and to hell with everything else. As much as that may appeal to some, it would cost us all a lot more in the long run to get that draconian about it.

 

As a lifetime fiscal conservative and social libertarian I have wholeheartedly stopped caring about debt and deficit. This has been a political loser for the GOP for at least 2 election cycles as there is no competing with “free”. There is no fiscal responsibility anymore. So if someone suggests cutting my taxes, I don’t care if they are ‘paid for ‘ even though I disagree with that phrase entirely.

 

Stop making crap up about loopholes for high earners when it comes to tips.

I was blessed to get my undergrad and advanced degrees at warrington and fisher and fully comprehend the consequences of fiscal irresponsibility and can plan accordingly. Our annual household income hovers around high 6 figures and we have had many years at 7 and above so yes we are a constant target….so yes I’ll take the tax cut thank you. Run up all the debt and deficit you want and I’ll continue to invest and plan around it and continue to benefit from the predictable results.

 

It seems that some analysts who actually have the credentials to analyze Trump's proposals are also "making up crap" regarding the potential for his proposal on tips to benefit high income taxpayers.

I could not have said it better. The government's spending problems are not my problem. Nobody asked me if I wanted to pay for Build Back Better.

You can define me however you wish. In my post I said I was a lifetime fiscal conservative and gave you examples of how I have applied that in my life and my family. I’m also not a single issue voter. I made the point that this was political loser for GOP for 2 election cycles because in current sound bite world it’s impossible to compete with free. I continued by saying I also just don’t care about the issue anymore. I know the results of reckless policy and can profit from it. So bacon away and debt and deficit all you wish and label me whatever you want.

 

you may want to google the federal budget and discover what percentage goes where. Kind of difficult to find money for infrastructure when 4.2T of a 6.3T budget( 66%). go to social security, Medicare, student loans, income security( purposely misleading label). and of course interest

I'm fairly certain there is concensus about what should be done. Everyone thinks that someone else needs to pay more taxes and/or spending, that doesn't effect them, should be cut.
