Forget the report for the moment. What in Gaetz’s actual experience leads to you to believe his is: (a) competent to handle the job based on experience, (b) competent in terms of temperament to handle the job; and (c) sufficiently trustworthy to be given the job?

I am curious what qualifications that Gaetz possesses that leads you to believe he is the best person to take on this particular job.

A very odd stance coming from the side continually decrying “lawfare”.

Musk acquired Twitter in 2022 not five years ago. He managed to reverse a trend in increasing ad revenue. The numbers speak for themselves. Once again he didn't acquire the platform to increase his income. It was a vanity acquisition so that he could have his personal social media platform.

    A true believer. Cool.

I reserve the right to expect and demand the most qualified secretary to lead a department in my government.

Yeah, IOW, in its infancy under Musk.

(I realized my mistake with 5 years, bc it was post '20 election, but didn't figure it worth correcting). Besides, the point stands--it's waaaaaaay too early to be declaring it a failed venture--and of course, the other points still stand loud n proud as well.

Musk owned da libbies, right there with the 47th POTUS of these United States.

And yall are still talking shit like you didn't just get your asses served up on a silver platter, with a side of shit burger, and a generous serving of humble pie for desert... lol!

Btw...who's the richest dude on da planet?

Who was in '22 when he bought Twitter?

    Go on....say his name...

    :p:D:p

While Musk is the richest man in the world and his largest enterprises Tesla and SpaceX have been incredibly successful and using those companies as examples he is a rather impressive visionary. That being said and no matter how you spin ir Twitter/X has been a failure since Musk acquired the company and it should be obvious that the reason for his acquisition wasn't to increase revenue and earnings by the platform it was so that he could have his personal social media platform. Evaluating the acquisition using that criteria he has accomplished his goal. The reality is that Musk is so wealthy that he can sustain tens of millions if not hundreds of millions of dollars in losses from a vanity acquisition and it would have a minuscule impact on his net worth.

Hard to call the Twitter acquisition a failure when Musk essentially parlayed it into unlimited access to the next POTUS. That in of itself, pays for the full acquisition and then some. Just the rise in TSLA stock price alone (post-election) nearly paid for the acquisition. And who knows the final valuation of the access he's carved out for himself. Musk would not have been able to do this without X.

Dems are still stuck on the old broken themes. People like Musk don't get to where they are without being extremely shrewd and brilliant. On any given topic, he is thinking 6 or 7 steps ahead of you, without even trying.

good post. It’s well covered that he did or did not traffic underage females for sex and drug at parties. we see the info available and what kind of person he is and decide for ourselves. (Btw check out his speeding ticket history.)

At this point it would be more interesting on why he is/ isn’t qualified.

The former Speaker of the House said that he had sex with a 17 year old quite a while ago. When is he planning on filing suit?

Even if not confirmed I have no doubts Gaetz will end up somewhere in the administration or at least as some martyred fox commentator. Fox does have a few openings.

So wait - you support news organizations trying to tell the truth, making efforts to avoid defaming anyone with lies, and avoiding $800 million settlements?

    Who would have known?

While the Senate should give deference to nominees selected by the President there is reason for "Advice and Consent" clause in the Constitution. If the Founders intended for the President to have absolute authority to appoint members of the cabinet, judges and other senior officials in the government they would not have conditioned that appointments be made with the advice and consent of the Senate. Trump clearly wants the Senate to abdicate its Constitutional authority to approve his appointments and is even suggesting the use of the recess authority as a work around to avoid confirmation by the Senate.
