What federal law did he break if he paid a 17 year old to have sex with him while not moving across state lines? They have to prove another element to charge him federally. So, since he is entirely innocent, why did he pay his scumbag friend, who immediately paid the same amount to a 17 year old sex worker?

Greenberg, of course, being a close friend of Gaetz. Close enough that he sent him fairly large sums of money. Why did he do this?

Once again the standard that the DOJ uses in determining whether to charge a prospective defendant is whether that defendant can be proven guilty beyond a reasonable doubt at a trial. The condition that he is not a criminal is a very low bar for a nominee for the position of AG. The ethics of the nominee also matter which is why the Senate should have access to the report of the House Ethics Committee or at a minimum the evidence gathered by that Committee and let's not forget that Gaetz criminality or ethics aside he would be the least qualified AG in the history of the Republic. He has very little experience actually practicing law, no prosecutorial or judicial experience and no experience managing a large organization or in other words he is absolutely unqualified to be the chief law enforcement officer of the US and the CEO of a government agency with over 113,000 employees. His only qualifications for the position is absolute loyalty to Trump, his promise to use the DOJ for retribution against Trump's perceived enemies and his promise to neuter the DOJ agencies responsible for investigating Trump personally and his campaign and to fire the employees responsible for the prosecutions of Trump.

Like the lumberjack said when the ax hit him in the groin: Won’t be long now.

Documents from a lawsuit regarding accusations against Gaetz have been hacked.
More likely now that the Ethics report will see the light of day

An unidentified person appears to have accessed documents shared among lawyers in a lawsuit that concerns allegations against former congressman Matt Gaetz (R-Florida), according to a person who received an email notifying them of the breach. The email recipient spoke on the condition of anonymity to discuss a sensitive matter involving President-elect Donald Trump’s nominee for attorney general. Trump,

The dems do not want it leaked- then they could not fear monger, smear, and outright lie about what is in the report. There is nothing in the report that will cause Gaetz any problems.

That's an interesting claim. Gaetz resigning two days before they were going to vote on releasing the report sure doesn't support your belief.

    And you know this, how?

Really haven’t heard too much from Dem leaders. They seem content to allow Rs to lead the charge against one of their own.

Ursid, if there was anything to it, he would have been prosecuted. On top of that the dem running against him would have made it numero uno in trying to unseat him. Someone hacked into the House files and now has the report, it will be out soon.

    But Why?

Lots of people loathe other people in power.

It sure feels like Gaetz is not the choir boy certain people are making him out to be.

If his nomination is not scuttled by the report it will be because of the pressure trump has put on enough spineless R senators.

Because he continuously goes after them with threats of turning their organizations upside down. Let's not forget they leaked that he was sex trafficking underage girls. The DOJ leaked these allegations, found no evidence, and closed the case without clearing his name.

Wait …. The DOJ leaked the allegations? Are you sure about that (I mean that as a question not a finger-point)? And of your theory that it was he use they bad-mouthed them, why did they target him instead of MJT, Boebert, and a slew of other agitators?

Do you actually even like Gaetz? Has he passed some laws you like? Said some wise things? Helped people?

Do you actually think he's even remotely qualified, and would make a good US Attorney General?

Or has he just been the loudest Trump supporter around for years? It's all just about Trump and nothing else, isn't it?

Not sure if I recall having read this part of the reporting previously.

Matt Gaetz used his adopted Cuban son's PayPal to pay for 'sexual favors' from two women, lawyer for his victims claims | Daily Mail Online

Two women interviewed by the House Ethics Committee about Gaetz testified that he paid them directly and repeatedly via Venmo transactions 'for sex.'

Some of those payments were through the PayPal account of Nestor Galban, whom Gaetz has referred to as his 'adopted son.'

Gaetz shocked Congress in 2020 when he revealed he had an adopted son. He said he was dating Galban's sister and the boy's mother had recently died from cancer when they all moved in together.

He did not formally adopt Nestor but says: 'Our relationship as a family is defined by our love for each other, not by any paperwork.'

This below sounds pretty normal too. Guy who, as a 30-ish adult, loves having sex with HS girls, using drugs and partying.........."adopted" a Cuban minor, but in spirit and not legally.

Very not normal, that is, of course.

    you can't know that
    you can't know that
    That may be true.

I doubt ANYTHING can be revealed in the report you won't be able to rationalize away.
