Trump in France

Sure we all have, but none of us have ever served as POTUS. As POTUS, every word spoken aloud in the presence of others carries an implied risk, even if the POTUS is having a casual conversation about college football (for example). Trump, recognizing this, isn't going to make such an awful and disrespectful comment (in the presence of military brass, no less) about U.S. Marines who perished over 100 years ago fighting WW1. Most of them were drafted anyway, so it's not like they had a say in whether they were there in the first place.

The entire thing makes no sense. The Atlantic reported this first and it appears they were attempting to portray the idea that Trump, by not attending the event at the cemetery in France, didn't really want to be there. Which was false, because the Secret Service would not have been able to secure the road due to the heavy rain and fog. So they seized upon his not attending and laced it with this BS. As if he's going to go to all the trouble to travel to France and skip out on the ceremony, because he has nothing better to do but sit in his hotel room in France.

 

Disinformation. CNN independently reported the heavy rain was present. It would have been impossible for the Secret Service to properly secure the road.

CNN reporters in France during the President’s visit reported that local weather reports indicated there was a low ceiling and heavy rain in the area of the cemetery, and authorities at the time said there was not time to organize French security to cover a long motorcade route.

Amazing to me that it isn't questioned more by a certain faction, but as I've said here before, many people want to be lied to.

 

In this case, CNN corroborated the heavy rain was present, which would have made the helicopter flight too dangerous and they corroborated the French authorities (in tandem with the USSS) couldn't secure the long road for arrival by motorcade.

 

Almost as delicious as being a Georgia fan, living in Alabama and posting on a Gator political forum. I’d say you’re more than naive if you believe Trump said that. Especially after the “51 intelligence officers” lie that the POTUS just had to pardon his son over. But again, I don’t want to get in the way of your love fest for by whatever means necessary. Knock yourself out.
