I think part of his strategy was just to spew so many lies that everyone just got used to it. I imagine there are thousands of recorded lies he has told, it's incredible really.

 

After nine years, it is safe to say that trump lying isn't the problem anymore. It is MAGA's acceptance of it. Cults are crazy.

That’s the scary part about all of this. Like, we all know at least one person in our personal lives who is a compulsive liar who tells tall tales and fabrications and embellishes everything, and we roll our eyes and mock them whenever they speak. Yet for some reason this trait has drawn MAGA folks to Trump even more. One day in the future they will conduct an in depth analysis and documentary on the MAGA era and the chokehold Trump had them in. A lot of people will look back in embarrassment and shame, and others will even deny that they ever supported him.

It's pathological. He doesn't lie for any specific purpose any longer. His lies flow out of his mouth as easily or more so than speaking the truth. I question whether he can separate them in his head at this point.

It's starts right off the bat with a bogus accomplishment. America gaining 7 million jobs is America's "accomplishment", not Donald Trump's accomplishment, unless you can detail what he did to "create" those jobs. Like I said, don't tell me "the weather was good" and claim it was your accomplishment. Bill Clinton made a lot of the same claims, but it wasn't Bill Clinton that created all of the jobs and wealth of the 1990's, it was the internet economy that created it. Clinton was born on third base and thought he had hit a triple. I feel the same way about Trump. The economy took a long time to recover from the 2008 economic disaster, and Trump was in the right place at the right time to reap the benefit. Much of that would have happened if Hillary had been elected in 2016. Trump may have accelerated some of that with his reduction of corporate taxes, but he also accelerated the federal debt increases.

Trump also jacked up the federal debt by a few trillion dollars (with no good reason, just because he likes "playing with debt") and got the country started on the way to inflation, which became inevitable when Covid hit. Were the jobs worth the trillions of dollars spent and the inevitable inflation? Probably not.

Kamala is more qualified than Trump to be president because:

She understands politics, and has many more years of experience working with Congressmen and Senators than Trump does.

She treats people (and countries) with respect, which Trump is seemingly incapable of. She is not arrogant like Trump is.

She is able to tell the truth, and does not make things up like Trump does. Trump is a serial liar.

She is not senile like Trump is.

She does not worship communist dictators like Putin and Xi like Trump does. She would never show admiration for Russia invading another country.

I believe she will do a much better job of supporting Ukraine against Russia than Trump will.

I'm not especially excited about her policy ideas, but I am fairly certain that the country will survive her administration. Congress will probably keep a lid on some of her crazier policy ideas. I am hopeful that the republicans will come up with a better candidate in four years and it will be someone that I can vote for.

 

This happened to my grandmother when she got dementia, names, places, decades, what people said, all seemed to blur together in her mind. Even if this is where Trump’s confused brain was going, I seriously doubt anyone was trash talking Kamala Harris on a helicopter in LA in 1990. In 1990, She was a fresh out of college low level government prosecutor in a city 350 miles from LA.
