Even die hard supporters have to wonder why Donald Trump is so disorganized. Trump has reversed, revised, rescinded, reinstated, and restated courses dozens of times, many times in hours.

It reflects having no strategy, no preparation, no detail work, no coordination, no leadership. Whether you voted for him or not, no one can approve of the mess this guy is making of things.

    1) The White House Office of Management and Budget last month rescinded a memo that caused widespread confusion and spurred lawsuits.
    2) Federal employees were laid off, then rehired at the EPA, ECR, FDA, others.
    3) Musk's email directive causes widespread confusion
    4) 9/11 survivor's health program is cut, then reinstated
    5) Legal aid for migrant children is stopped, and then reinstated
    6) Trump imposes tariffs on Canada and Mexico and then pauses for 30 days
    7) Trump, a week later, resumes the tariffs and then once again pauses them 3 days after.
    8) Trump doubles tariffs on Canadian metals, then reverses course 18 hours later
    8) Trump gives Musk unlimited power with DOGE and then rescinds the power.
    9) Trump promises reduce prices from day one and then reverses the sentiment saying it is not so easy and will take time
    10) Trump blames Zelenski for the war and failure to cede to what Putin wants, and punishes him by withdrawing support, and now reverses course saying he will impose new sanctions on Russia to "ruin" Putin.
    11) Trump said he would turn around the economy from day one and now restates that there could be a recession and pain.
    12) Says he will clear Gaza and develop it into a resort town, but recently reversed that idea after vandalism at his golf course reading "Gaza isnt for sale".

Chaos, paired with a nonstop firehose of bullshit. Same M.O. they had in the first term, only now it is on steroids.

That implies there is method to the madness. That other people and hangers on find it easier to loot the country in the chaos isnt necessarily some grand plan.

    A. I didn't say there was a grand plan. Just that this is the smoke screen.

    B. I hope that there is no grand plan. The best case here is just a wanton and chaotic grab. Otherwise there is a larger plan that will prove far more destructive and difficult to repair.

Tempting to believe no one is that disorganized so it must be all a great plan.... evidence suggests there is no plan, its disorganization.

Isn't Project 25 the plan? It's implementation is the chaotic part. Some say yes, some say no, and some say I don't know...

Well, P25 isnt itself a coherent 'plan' per se ... on various issues there contradictions and conflicting opinions within the document itself. The chaos isnt just the implementation its also reflective of the conflicts in conservative priorities and points of disagreement among their factions.

    I'm recalling Perlstein's analysis

    Project 2025 … and 1921, and 1973, and 1981

    Needles in Project 2025’s Haystack

TL/DR: Its bad of course, but lots of it is stupid, incoherent and contradictory. Its mix of long standing conservative goals (like getting rid of the DoE) and "maybe we could do some of these things and see what happens" - some of it is just people arguing over certain things without an agreement over a concrete path forward.
