Crime was falsifying business records. Read the indictment. It's a felony because a jury of Trump's peers found him guilty of doing exactly this for the purpose of covering up additional crimes. Not that difficult to understand.

Trump could get 4 years in prison. But non-violent, first offense, maximum is unlikely. Probation would be most likely, but the wildcard here is Trump's ten contempts of court. Does the judge take thar into consideration?
