Trump fires at least 12 independent inspectors general in late-night purge

The White House late Friday fired the independent inspectors general of at least 12 major federal agencies in a purge that could clear the way for President Donald Trump to install loyalists in the crucial role of identifying fraud, waste and abuse in the government.

The inspectors general were notified by emails from the White House personnel director that they had been terminated immediately, according to people familiar with the situation, who like others in this report spoke on the condition of anonymity to discuss the private messages. The dismissals appeared to violate federal law, which requires Congress to receive 30 days’ notice of any intent to fire the inspectors general.

Some of the government’s largest agencies were involved, including the Departments of Defense, State, Transportation, Veterans Affairs, Housing and Urban Development, Interior, and Energy.

Most of those dismissed were Trump appointees from his first term, which stunned the group. “It’s a widespread massacre,” said one of the fired inspectors general. “Whoever Trump puts in now will be viewed as loyalists, and that undermines the entire system.”

The felon tries another illegal move...... not surprising but it is not allowed for him to remove without justifiable cause AND Congressional notification 30 days prior. One supposes when the felon is so used to breaking laws it becomes second nature.

Chuck Grassley is all over this. I'm sure he's gong to be a stickler for the law - might even try to reverse this. Cuz he rilly rilly cares about making sure Trump follows the law.

“There may be good reason the IGs were fired. We need to know that if so,” Sen. Chuck Grassley, chair of the Senate Judiciary Committee, said in a statement. “I’d like further explanation from President Trump. Regardless, the 30 day detailed notice of removal that the law demands was not provided to Congress,” said Grassley, R-Iowa.

Edit : "Piss off, old man. I want to commit more crimes," Trump responded, prompting Grassley to apologize and tenderly cup Trump's small, shriveled man parts.

Who cares about federal law? Kind of like who cares about the constitution?

MAGA, is this what you voted for? Total disregard for the law? You promised us he just talked like that.

'A widespread massacre': Observers stunned after late-night Trump 'purge' of former hires

A decision by Donald Trump's incoming administration to make a late-night firing of at least 12 inspectors general –– including some the president personally approved of in his first term –– is creating alarm among observers, according to a report from the Washington Post.

Increasing those concerns is the fact that abrupt "purge" is likely illegal under federal law.

According to the report, "The inspectors general were notified by emails from the White House personnel director that they had been terminated immediately, according to people familiar with the actions, who like others in this report spoke on the condition of anonymity to discuss the private messages," adding federal law states Congress must be given 30 days’ notice of intent to terminate a Senate-confirmed inspector general.

collapse of checks and balances began when the senate didn't impeach him for the ukranian blackmail attempt. it was then that the pubs stepped onto the slippery slope. our system of government is collapsing before our very eyes. the jusdicial branch is the last hope and for now at least part of it is fighting back

this should probably be it's own thread but it's all about trying to takeover all branches of gubmnt and isntill fear to make the employees comply. remember this too, the more they need their job, the more likely they are to go along to get along. gubmnt employees reporting on each other, already encouraged

Stay In Your Lane: Judiciary Rebukes Trump Admin For Email Blast To Court Employees - TPM – Talking Points Memo

The administrative arm of the federal court system rebuked the Trump administration Friday for sending out an email blast to nearly the entire judiciary branch, including court employees and apparently every judge in the country.Per emails reviewed by TPM, judiciary employees across the country received an email from a human resources account run by the Office of Personnel and Management early Friday morning. The message indicated that OPM was testing a “new distribution and response list.”

The email prompted confusion among judiciary employees, in part because they do not work for the executive branch, and in part because the message asked them to click on a link, raising concerns that it may have been a phishing attempt.
But phishing attempt it was not: The message was real, and came as part of what OPM describes on its website as an initiative to create a government-wide means of emailing every civilian federal employee. OPM is an independent agency of the executive branch that operates like the human resources office for federal employees.

Officials with the Administrative Office of U.S. Courts, the agency that oversees the judicial branch workforce, quickly moved to remind both their staff and the Trump administration that they are different branches of government.“The Administrative Office is aware that all judges and judiciary employees likely received an email from HR@opm.gov with the Subject Line ‘Email Test.’ The message is not spam or a virus, and was sent as a test of the Office of Personnel Management’s ability to communicate with all federal employees,” reads a Friday morning email from the Office of the Administrative Director to judiciary employees.

“As a reminder, the judiciary has its own governance processes for reviewing judiciary policies and practices,” the message continues. “We are in communication with OPM about the appropriate way to communicate with the judiciary in the future, and if you have not yet replied to the email, there is no need to do so. Once we receive more information about this test we will share it with you.” A court system spokesman reiterated in a statement to TPM that it was “communicating with OPM about the appropriate way to communicate with the judiciary in the future.”

first you will be asked to report on anything that may be dei related, then you will be told to report on any activity that may inhibit their goals.

Trump campaign against diversity urges government employees to turn informer | Reuters

Jan 22 (Reuters) - The Trump administration on Wednesday urged government employees to inform on each other and their departments in order to root out any attempts to hide diversity programs.
The latest escalation in U.S. President Donald Trump's campaign against diversity, equity and inclusion (DEI) comes a day after he pressured the private sector to join the initiative and told government employees in offices administering such programs they would be placed on paid leave.

Even if the courts rule against him, I expect the Andrew Jackson card to come out: " let's see them enforce it".
If anyone actually thinks the gop house and senate are going to hold him accountable or provide checks and balances, I have some oceanfront property in Arizona to sell you. No guardrails. You think he's pushing the limits now, just wait.....

does citizens reporting on fellow citizens about civil acts to the government so that the government can punish you remind you of anything in history?

if an employee is told to reward a contract to a selected bidder or use the qualifications of a predetermined contractor does that abuse of the regulations bother you?

remember the spec for the oklahoma bible, Childs's play as to what is coming. the kind of corruption that IG's and ethical employees safe in their jobs wouldn't worry about. object to the sole bidder, be reported for dei, lose job, ezpz

no rules, no regulations, no checks and balances, just do what told..remind you of anything?
