Only 2 weeks until GDP is reported. I'd be surprised if it is negative but very likely anemic. Most services are reporting about 1.5-1.8% increase in retail sales and a cut back in corporate expenditures netting out somewhere around low 1%'s. Government spending is up too. Should be really interesting report.

Economists are estimating that Trump's tariffs program will bring the U.S. economy all the way back to 1910. Impressive.

Economists continue to revise estimates for Trump's tariff policy. Most possibilities still take us back to the 1910s.

Trumps economic policies will be his downfall. He’s, as Regis used to say, “bonkers”.

He’s going to set the US back for years.

It’s his ego. He thinks he knows all. Hopefully the house will turn in 2026. If not, we are in a financial world of caca.

well this will help clear the backlog

China blocks Boeing deliveries in retaliation to Trump tariffs

China has barred its country’s airlines from accepting deliveries from Boeing in retaliation against Donald Trump’s tariffs.

The ban will apply to all existing orders from the US manufacturing giant, while Beijing has also told the country’s carriers not to buy any aircraft-related equipment or parts from other American companies.

If Trump really cared about bringing manufacturing back to the US why in the world would he give Apple and smart phones a carve out?

Things not getting done with China so we can have more expensive toys, clothing and shoes with a ridiculous trade war:
    • Lower the temperature on Taiwan
    • Curbing fentanyl production
    • Agreement on AI restrictions
    • Nuclear arms race agreement
    • Isolation of Russia
    • Copywrite and patent infringement
    • And for God's sake a deal on TikTok

American farmers, still trying to recover from Trump's first term and its battles with China, are seeing red with Trump's second term. U.S. cattle ranchers alone are scheduled to lose $1.6 billion in this tariff war. Exports made up 20% of U.S. farmers' income. Farmers also import much of the fertilizer and specialized tools for farming. Small farmers will be hit especially hard.

Delta and Ryanair say they will cancel plane orders if tariffs jack up prices. Boeing may need a bailout after all of the plane order cancellations. Nice work, Trump.

2 of the world's biggest airlines say they'll reject new planes if Trump's tariffs push up prices

‘The Trump administration can’t ignore Boeing,’ BofA says after China reportedly halts imports from the U.S. aircraft manufacturer

According to Bank of America aerospace and defense analyst Ronald Epstein, Boeing’s role in China’s retaliation strategy has forced Trump to pay attention to the American aircraft manufacturer, even as the situation is subject to change or reverse.

“Boeing is the U.S.'s largest exporter, as such, we are not surprised by China's move; however, we do see this as unsustainable,” Epstein wrote in a note to investors Tuesday. “When considering balances of trade, we think the Trump Administration can't ignore Boeing.”
    ...........................
Boeing remains one of the few old-school U.S. manufacturers and relies heavily on exports, receiving about two-thirds of its orders outside the U.S. CEO Kelly Ortberg has opposed tariffs, citing the importance of Boeing’s international business on providing U.S. jobs.

“Free trade is very important to us,” Ortberg said at a Senate hearing earlier this month. “We really are the ideal kind of an export company where we’re outselling internationally. It’s creating U.S. jobs, long-term high-value U.S. jobs. So it’s important that we continue to have access to that market and that we don’t get in a situation where certain markets become closed to us.”

European leaders are learning to kiss the ring, but not Trump's ring. They are kissing the ring of Chairman Xi, as they pivot away from dealing with the mentally unstable president of the United States and move towards China.

Trump's popularity soars to new lows: his popularity with independents is at -22%, which is the new all-time record! His approval ratings are so impressive that they appear to have gone on a scuba diving vacation. Congratulations, President Trump!
