Trump announces $1 Trillion Defense Budget

I'm assuming this wasn't a doge audit? There hasn't been time to do a comprehensive audit in the time doge has been around.
I'm certainly not implying doge audit is worth a shit, I'm just asking.

 

As space has been reduced to not much more than vanity projects for billionaires, why is the govt spending even $1 on it? No reason to pay the Russians 2x. Just dont do it at all.

I know NASA in the past resulted in scientific breakthroughs. But not sure at this point there’s likely to be benefit to the citizenry. What are we even doing at this point? Seems like pipedreams of going to mars and “space tourism” for uber wealthy. Not really anything taxpayers ought to be funding, especially if the fiscal situation is so dire we’re literally going to let people starve due to humanitarian aid cuts. Talk about out of whack priorities.

 

I have no idea. Chain of command says, give us the following data by next Tuesday, and we do it. I follow orders from Colonel Nathan T. Jessup and the Lord Jesus Christ. I recognize no other authority.
