    President-elect Trump in a new interview that aired Sunday said he couldn’t guarantee Americans would not pay more because of tariffs he has pledged to impose on imported goods.

    Trump, in an interview with Kristen Welker of “Meet the Press,” shrugged off repeated warnings from economists that tariffs on Canada, Mexico, China and others would raise prices for American consumers, saying he did not believe them.

    “Can you guarantee American families won’t pay more?” Welker asked.

    “I can’t guarantee anything. I can’t guarantee tomorrow. But I can say that if you look at my — just pre-COVID, we had the greatest economy in the history of our country,” Trump responded.

    Time to buckle up folks. Why do I get the feeling of the only ones that will benefit from increased tariffs are the billionaires that will be running the country?

    Trump's answer was pretty dumb though. Paraphrasing: "Before the economy sucked under me, it was great, so although I have no idea what tariffs are and if they will raise prices I am awesome".

    I agree… read how people blame one bad answer on The View as the downfall of the Harris campaign…. Meanwhile, Trump is telling stories about Arnold Palmers enormous dick and quoting Mein Kampf on the campaign trail, but is unfazed …

    Since Joe Biden and by implication Kamala Harris were responsible for higher prices was enough for swing voters to flip the election. The fact that Trump is clearly unhinged and represented a threat to Democracy were irrelevant. Keep in mind that Trump won the popular vote by 1.6% and won most of the swing states by a margin of around one percent.
