It’s amazing how fast a corrupt, selfish, dishonest man can fall when the power brokers make the decision to move their money and support to someone else.

After the November elections it became obvious that Republicans could not win when half of the country was more interested in voting against you than voting for the Democratic candidate. You can want his policies all you want, but that just won't work. I just hope someone close to Trump will convince him not to have a bloody primary where nobody survives.

Oklahoma was a pro Trump state in the last 2 elections, but every Republican I have talked to, does not want him to run again.

At this point, the GOP owes Trump $130,000 for his “services”.

I think a big part of it is that he was proven to be a liar and grifter, not just accused, and the classified documents that were discovered gave a lot of trumpers pause. He was still going strong until he went off the deep end with the antisemites and racists and then it became a bridge too far. If he would have turned over all the documents and then conceded that the election was over and he would make sure to win the next one the great majority of the maga mob may have stuck by him

Wait, what? The NCAA has men’s soccer? Who can afford the scholarships under Title 9?

I don't know what would be worse for the GOP. For Trump to lose the primary or for him to win

I think there’s a weird meta-situation, where Trump will have a grip if people think has a grip. It’s like a stock, it can rank in a hurry if people lose faith in it, even if nothing has objectively changed with the company itself.

It’s still a bit disheartening that it his loss of grip didn’t happen earlier because of his deeds, rather than now due to his perceived lack of power. I know you take flak for your Trump support, but I credit you for getting off his train a while back, as so many others stayed on.

It is long past time for the GOP to move on from Trump and all that he entails (election denialism and all the other bullshit). Principles and policy, not worshipping at the altar of a personality.

I mean I don't know what the impact is, but at the time of the document seizure, lots of people here were like "going after Trump is only going to make his supporters mad and make him more powerful."
