Moderate Republicans, when faced with the choice between Trump and Biden or Trump and Harris will choose Trump every time.
Clearly not in 2020 the stats showed that moderate voters shifted towards Biden from the 2016 numbers. The only issue is with the economic downturn would people of color come out in the numbers like they did for Biden in 2020.
I'm not so sure only because, in my mind, a moderate republican is closer to Biden than to Trump, but I think I may put too much emphasis on the danger Trump poses. I respect any moderate because I think they put country first and expect all our elected officials to obey their oath of office. But, who knows, maybe policies are all that matter.
Current top 3 dems in contention for 2024 ticket. Biden, Harris, Pete. I don’t see those 3 winning - even against trump. But it’s still early and I see Gavin coming on strong. I would think he wins against trump - not sure on newsome vs desantis. Desantis would get the rinos who are even more ABT. But it’s still 2+ years out and a lot can happen. Maybe a Cuban or Kinzinger will jump in. I would vote for them above all the above.

I suspect Fox won’t clap back at Trump until/unless he definitively loses popular Republican support. I could be wrong, but I think they take these on the chin and press forward. Might even start showing more support in order to demonstrate loyalty and appeasement.
Yeah, I do think the establishment/country club Republicans want to move on from Trump, but as others have noted, I'm not sure most were behind him in the 2016 primary either. Look back at what folks like Cruz and Graham said about Trump before they had to circle the wagons. The question to me is how many Republicans who votes for Trump in 2016 will refuse to vote for him this time? I don't know, but I think DeSantis is probably the only guy with a shot if Trump runs.

Hardly a secret. Those that want authoritarian anti-democratic minority rule but from an elite more palatable perspective have found their man. Murdoch has been here for a while. But the base still has a say.
even moderate republicans voted for Biden 2x more than they did for Clinton. But yeah moderate republicans, to differentiate from moderates in general will still vote mostly for trump. But whereas moderate dems voted somewhat more often for trump in 2016 than one would expect almost none voted for him in 2020. And he hasn’t done anything since 2020 to win over more moderates. It might even be worse for him in 2024 than it was in 2020.

Big money wants big control... Trump does NOT need their money and he will not do them favors for said money... so I am glad big-money is bailing on Trump. That's great news to me. One more thing, screw Rupert Murdock and 95% of Fox News personalities.
Rick, if he doesnt need their money, why is he always pandering for it? A presidential campaign isn't self funded. He needs their money. Heck he at the very least needs to keep a strong opponent from getting it. It's like the Yankees grabbing an additional bullpen arm at the trade deadline just to keep the Rays from signing them. It isnt always about you needing it, but about the other guy using it to beat you. Trust me. DJT is boiling mad at big money leaving his pockets... Especially if it flows to a worthy opponent who will use that money to beat him.
