On topic, I fell in love with Bonham. Has exactly what we want in a one: careful with the ball, can get to the rim and hit his shots or get to the line, and his outside shot is solid (40% as frosh, 35% on lots more attempts last year). In comparison with Glover on the metrics this staff prioritizes (effective fg%, turnover rate, and ft rate), they are relatively similar: Bonham has him on eff fg and ft rate, Glover is better at to rate. But having three years to play is big.
I get it, but he wasn't effective at the 4 at LSU with the stats he put up. Fudge has the identical physical size as Corey Brewer who played the 3 with UF. Maybe he will be more productive at the 3 rather than the 4.
In what sense wasn’t he effective? His def reb%, tot reb%, and block rate were all top 3-4 among regulars on a tourney team as a freshman. He will only get stronger and better. Defense wasn’t his problem; offense was. And a poor to average shooter and ball handler isn’t likely going to be better on the wing than at the four. His calling cards are defense, rebounding, finishing, and moving without the ball.

No way he’s a 4 at 6’7 175-180. Maybe a small 3 but not a 4 at Florida or most teams for that matter.
Look at his numbers. On Eric’s podcast, he even said Fudge was rated the 10th best defender available in the portal.
He was 6-8, 185 (with a 7’ wingspan) when he enrolled at LSU. Where he principally played the four. In the SEC. For a tournament team.
Glover’s first 2 years were wasted. He was almost never at the point in his limited minutes and would get yanked for a single mistake.

Defender I agree with but not at the 4. I’ll take 6’8 ( seen him listed at 6’6 and 6’7 but 185 doesn’t survive in the post I believe i saw he played 13 minutes a game this year. That’s not much and maybe for 6/7 of those 13 minutes he played the 4. Playing the 4 in the SEC at his size for 7 minutes might be doable but for 15-20 minutes not happening. Brewer played the 3 and played it great. Could have filled in at the 4 for 8-10 minutes and remember he was great and played in the league.
He was brought in here to play the 4. ESPN lists him as 6'8" 185 lbs. He's got a 7 foot Wingspan. He's a pretty athletic guy and a very good defender. He's not going to wow you offensively at first.
But tell me how at 185 he doesn’t get pushed around in the post that’s the only thing I’m trying to figure out. Most fours in college are 68 or 69 and 220 to 240. Giving up 50 or 60 pounds cannot be easy.
Everything you say about Brewer is obviously right. But, The game has changed a lot positionally since then. A guy that was Brewer's size is not often times looked at his a 4. Now you take a guy who his Fudge's height, has his 7'0" wingspan and good defensive measurables, and he's a 4. Regarding his production last year, LSU had a stacked roster last year. He was their 8th man. That is good for a Freshman. Think about last year, how many teams did the Gators see last year that had a 6'8 small forward? I'm sure there had to be a couple, but I can't think of any.
And Devin Robinson was 6’8” and 190 (with the same wingspan) when he left Florida, and he split time between the 3 and 4 as a sophomore and junior despite having a better shot than Fudge and not being as good or defender or rebounder as a prep. That’s a better comparison than Brewer, imo. But I guess we will see.
