But we've also NEVER seen this level of starting players, especially team leaders leave after a successful season at a prominent P5 school
Our season ticket bottom line that just came out is up $210 for our ticket pair. Less quality, more cost. It's the way it is with everything now.
Well said. I'd rather be 5-5 with student athletes that graduate than 10-0 with mercenaries. But it's a mercenary sport now.
Yep, when a moving ship takes a torpedo, its momentum will carry it forward a long way... until it eventually sinks.
In regards to gator football, the sky is sitting squarely on the ground. Next year will be as bad it gets in the modern era.
I was disappointed but not surprised at the increase. Then, when I called and asked, I was told the booster packet would no longer include the booster auto tag. If I wanted one, I was told, it would cost $7.00. It seems trivial (the $7.00); but it’s the principle… I did renew; but I thought about for a long time first, and seriously considered not renewing. Could very well be my last year, though. I live in Atlanta. If I want to see pros play, I can purchase Falcons tickets, and save the travel and hotel time and money. Sigh…
I agree except how many people on this board actually do those things? Lots of folks doing some of the loudest bitching don’t go to games and don’t contribute monetarily through collectives or whatever. They holler about “bags”, “gotta come up with more money” Put some money where your mouth is.
Tell the UAA you'll pay for the tickets, but not the booster fee and that you’ll consider putting that savings toward NIL in the future. Next year will be my 35th season, and I haven’t decided yet, but I’m strongly considering doing that.
If I want to watch people pleasuring themselves while screwing others there is plenty of free porn on the internet.
Teams like Ohio State, et all can afford to lose players. They are deep in roster as well as NIL. I don't see many A-list players portal'ing are leaving A List teams. If your best player on a mediocre team (yes I do consider this our current state) leaves your second year head coach, it's a problem. Perception unfortunately is King and if your own guys aren't buying in (majority of his first recruiting class are opting to portal out), it simply is not a good look. If you can't convince your own, how the hell you going to convince alumni, fans?
I used to feel the same way, but now it's just a horrible investment. What is the Roi for everyone who's contributed up to this point? A whole lot of buyers remorse. I think most here are complaining about the system anyway. Not UF. I'd rather watch a well coached team with inferior talent stay for 4 years, go 5-7 and put that money in my 529.
Why? I think we look desperate enough to the world right now. People who pester the players on social media are weird.
