All of the above. I'm sure family pressure is significant. My guess is that he's disillusioned by the lack of progress. Many of these kids are not picking schools initially because they are fans or love being there, so when things are tough, they get going.
Agree, its not going to serve him well in the league when he gets drafted by Carolina or a team in a similar situation. There is a transfer portal in the league, its called waivers.
There is a real cost for the "get out of jail card" setup we have today. It has to be the NFL to ding these players who don't like their current situation and leave instead of getting tougher and more resolute. Unless I hear something egregious, Napier wants him to succeed both at UF and in the future. And as I posted before, if he thinks he can just run the ball and not pick up blitzing linebackers (they are SO MEAN!), then the NFL may try him at slot receiver/kick returner. But there is NO WAY he will be an NFL running back.
I get that. The only thing I don't understand is the players not taking ownership with the the lack of progress when they were on the team.
Georgia just let Rayola go over money. If ETN is just hunting a big paycheck, I don’t think Georgia is in the position of need for him to overpay either. If he’s wanting the biggest check, he might want to look somewhere else. If he just wants to win, he will probably have to take a smaller nil deal if he wants to play there.
It's crazy to me to see some of the same people who were screaming in OGT's to run the ball with ETN now think he sucks. I thought I was bad, but man, the portal is really bring the worst out of some people. Guess everyone deals with disappointment differently.
Wanting Trevor to get more carries is ok and so is mentioning his lack of blocking skills and dedication to his teammates and coaches. btw, who are those posters you mentioned? Got a name or two
Not sure where you are reading that people think Etienne sucks. I think the knock on him, all season, is that he isn't even competent as a blocker. I kind of understand his jumping out of bounds and avoiding contact since he has been injury bitten but I think that was also a complaint.
Does anyone else find it interesting that ETN has not committed to anyone? Maybe the money isn't what his handlers told him it would be.
Was just wondering about this last night. Certainly seems that if he had a specific target in mind he would have announced by now. Maybe waiting until the smoke clears from signing day? To be completely honest, I would still love to have him on the roster next year. I think that ship has sailed, but who knows anymore??
OR... maybe he listened to too many "friends and family" and he is finding out that Napier isn't such a bad dude after all.
