He tried to use a stat to suggest Black Americans are ok with the idiocy of the governor and neglected to look at the data that the growth is way down under Desantis. Regardless his attempt was weak and impotent and I called it out.
I just showed you the rate slowed. Now I don’t think people make moving decision based on politics so it isn’t my claim. I simply called out his stat as junk. It was. The rate is waaaaaay down under Desantis.
Man, look how racist FL is towards Blacks! FL needs to be more like CA and NY! What a F'ing clown statement. Has anyone on this site come forward and said FL is racist towards blacks?
Blacks traveling to Florida should especially be warned not to go to Mar-a-Lago, where you can be hit by a flying ketchup bottle. (That's regardless of race, creed or color.)
Just an update on the NAACP travel warning. Doesn't seem like it did very well LOL. Not a fan of what DeSantis has done lately but this was just a political stunt by the NAACP.
Just a little update on how those travel warnings to Florida are working out LOL. Orlando tourist tax hits record $40 million in March Through March, fiscal year 2023-24 has generated $194.2 million, just $28,900 less than the first half of 2022-23. Collections in March 2024 totaled $40.55 million, compared to the $38.9 million generated in March 2023, the previous best TDT month ever.
See below lol answer to your question. Just because people are running up credit cards and debt to come to Florida doesn't mean the economy isn't on thin ice... I like the effort though.
Using a credit card and going into debt to take a vacation isn't a new phenomenon. This article from 2017 states it takes the average person 6 months to fully pay off a vacation. When the economy is truly bad, people stop traveling, like we saw back in 2010 during the recession.
I was going to point out that the story doesn't address whether the figures are significantly different than earlier years. Maybe this year is worse, I don't know. But it looks like AzCat already addressed it, right? Going into debt for a vacation is nothing new.
Thanks Disney! Parks Division up 12% last quarter and WDW is the biggest benefactor. Way to keep Florida rolling! And you thought they were dead... Take a lap.
Quit heckling the comedian. And anyway, that's so 2023. We're talking Q1 2024. Calif only get tourists because they mistake Disneyland for Disneyworld.
