Yeah I saw that too. I think he’s been hearing the backlash and had to say it. I just hope it’s not give Baker one series and if he looks good pull him so that he’s protected. Let it be a real competition.

Trask went 20-28 with that O-line and really should have been at least 24-28 because of some really bad drops. Nothing I’ve seen from Baker suggests he could do that in the NFL under constant pressure. Of the one “good”performance by each QB, Trask’s was far more impressive, IMO.

IMO, this is not the worse news. I think Mayfield is going to get killed before it is over.

Hi tea, I suspect you are right. Not giving up on Kyle, he waited it out at UF, IMO his patience will pay off at Tampa Bay.

I think we all expected Mayfield to be named the starter. I will also add that none of us expect Mayfield to be the starter at the end of the season

At least Trask will be ready and healthy when a real coach shows up in Tampa next year....

And, if I recall correctly, it was Year 1 when a still-serviceable Steve Spurrier got absolutely CRUSHED behind some damn bad O-line play. But it also got him more interested in coaching, so there is that.

I remember during that season one of the Bucs offensive lineman said Spurrier was the toughest QB he ever saw. He couldn't believe he kept getting up and playing after some of the beatings he took.
