Transgender Teachers Leaving FL

    Two Palm Beach County teachers said they're ready to move out of the state after the passage and expansion of what critics call the "Don't Say Gay" bill.
    “I'm trans. I'm out. My students know. What's going to happen to me?" Fowler asked. "The first round of 'Don't Say Gay' came out and it was signed and I had stress seizures that put me in the hospital for two weeks."
    This guy/gal is moving to Boston to feel “safe”.
    Boston is one of the last places I’d move to feel safe from anyone or anything. It’s likely a good thing these people move away but they shouldn’t be teaching anywhere. Children can sense their struggle and it’s now all about the teachers issues and no longer about the students.
    All the guy had to do is not say gay. Jeez.

    I still don't get why teachers can't just freaking teach and dispense with all the theatrics, everyone isn't out to get gay/trans people in Florida...the most elevated/celebrated, paranoid protected class ever.

    Also, this trans person is upset with the don’t say gay law. Is trans also gay?
    I don’t understand why that is upsetting to a transgender.
