I like this post and I think it has merit. Let me know how many transgender pilots and snipers are in the military right now. So far all I have seen from posts made by transgenders is how to apply makeup and nail polish. Show me some posts from transgenders kicking ass and taking names.

Seems to me there's a fine place for them in military even if they don't kick ass and take names. The military is full of non-combat roles. If someone wants to serve honorably I don't care what pronoun they want.

This is YOUR concern thread. Why don't YOU show US some numerical figures about transgender soldiers, since you're obviously somewhat disturbed by this.

Also, you've really been reading posts made by transgenders? And they're all about nail polish and makeup? Interesting, I don't think I've read any of their posts....although I wouldn't really know. I don't follow those subjects. Or are you just making that up?

Your own eyes? You've seen a lot of transgender soldiers? Or you've seen a lot of deficient transgender soldiers? Or are you just......saying that?

And finally; is this REALLY a "huge vocal point" from our top generals on down? Or have they maybe just made a statement to minimize the issue, since it's really not all that important?

I'm sure you can document how this has become a "huge vocal point" from our generals? This is your concern thread, after all.....

Women in the military wouldn’t fit your definition of merit. Most or our capabilities are drone and planes and missiles and ships. Our tough guys are pretty equal with tough guys around the world I’d wager. Proud to have them but that isn’t what people fear from us.

I will let you know. My neighbors youngest son is in the competition. His parents left yesterday and were going over to take care of their dogs while they are gone. I’ll ask.

None of those were declared wars. Words have meanings and those meanings matter.

so that makes you at least 99 years old or so. Ancient gator might be a better handle for you.

I know that I forgot about the part where transgender people were destroying our military. (Because of Joe Biden, at that.)

Probably because it never happened. At least not outside of the right-wing hate/disinformation propaganda-sphere.

Although perhaps OP will come back and provide us more details on that, since he's the one with the best information here. Let's see.....

Just a quick point, the military’s primary purpose is to spend taxpayer money. It’s a massive jobs program, an economic engine, too big to fail. It’s exceedingly good at doing so. National defense, world police, etc etc are just results of that endeavor, mainly because we throw more money at it than everybody else combined.

It is what it is, and I’m a beneficiary of it in some ways. I look forward to my pension and TriCare for Life, you’re welcome for my service, blah blah blah,

Well 58K died in Vietnam alone. And I often preach the “words/meaning” to my own students. No declaration, understood, but yeah, they were wars.

Well just ask anyone that served in those conflicts. It sure felt like war. I am sorry which one of those conflicts that didn't fall under your definition of war did you serve in.

By the way if I am too old to have a meaningful opinion what does that say about your President. He is a lot older than me and his opinions have real consequences.

I'm still feeling a little let down, sir.

You got everyone here very concerned about this pressing issue, then held back on producing the data you certainly must have which will prove how dramatically this affects our military readiness.

Could you please detail this further, so that we can join you in recognizing the calamitous nature of this issue? It's a matter of all our security.

Quick search of the 100 most recent stories in the New York Times about the U.S. military, and I didn't see one headline about transgenders.

You just keep getting all your information from the New York Times and stay in your bbble/
Don't get yourself all riled up. This was a tongue in cheek way of addressing a serious issue. The world is becoming more and more dangerous. Our Military needs to keep up with our adversaries. It's no more complicated than that.
