Yeah only thing I want to see come out of the portal is some DT/NT help. Other than that lets ride with what we have let the young bucks get some PT at LB and DB next year. Need the experience for a 2022 Run at the SEC / Playoffs.

I had a look yesterday, not many good DT/NT available on transfer portal yet.

We may need an OL from transfer portal too.

Do we actually have a killer DE on the roster now ??

Cox has the physical tools IF he gets a little bigger and learns NOT to run himself out of the play.

I'm not sure we have a slot guy like him, and I'm not keeping my hopes up that Copeland returns. If he's gone, that leaves us with Shorter, Henderson, and Whittemore as our only returning experienced WRs. I suppose Rucker could fill that slot role if he qualifies, but not sure he'll be ready to contribute next year.

IF he qualifies is a BIG I’d given what school he attends. I love to bring in MAR

Technically with the new transfer rule all first time transfers will be eligible.

in reference to counters - they all count the same. Incoming true freshmen and any player who transfers in counts as a counter. You transfer in as a junior or freshman or whatever - you count against total counter allotment.

the only part I am unsure of - grad transfers. Is there any exception for them? I don’t know

The last time we were in trouble with receivers was last year at this time....sounds like we are right where we want to be.

Why wouldn’t Copeland return? If you’re thinking it’s because of the NFL he has nearly 0% chance of getting drafted. Toney did himself wonders in his draft-ability and Copeland needs to do the same.

I can’t see Copeland going anywhere this year. Next year is possible if he has a breakout year.

I'm a Copeland fan but tend to agree, he needs to build his resume up a bit more.

The way we've been playing offense, you can never have enough receivers. I assume we'll be less pass-heavy with Emory next year instead of Trask, but we're still going to spend a lot of time with four or five receivers, and when you do that you need big numbers of talented receivers.

Anyone else remember those stretches in 2005 when Baker and Cornelius were hurt, and Caldwell was out for the season, and we'd throw out a five-wide set with Chad Jackson, Kenneth Tookes, Tate Casey and Kestahn Moore?

My sense from prior posts on various boards was that he was going to transfer, not try to go to the NFL.

Get rid of others that started this year then leave for another school. Sounds stupid to me

This could also help our staff encourage certain guys to bounce for their last year or two so that the younger guys can take over.

These guys need to be careful using the portal this year. There may not be enough spots to land since everyone didn’t use up a year of eligibility this season. Or was that just the seniors?

I can understand if there’s personal reasons, but UF still offers as good opportunity to showcase your talent as any. A transfer now seems like a lot of effort with little to gain in the long run.

How are programs going to handle the extra year of eligibility that was granted, are some guys going to be “encouraged” to move along? It will be interesting how this plays out. Some teams are going to benefit from just a few really good players that take advantage of this and return. It could clog up some rosters too.
