They already are. That's the scary part. On the one hand, I'm happy for Georgia and Bama to have some competition. On the other hand, I don't want the new kid on the block being a bully to the founding members of the conference.

I think they will be an easy team to hate, though. Fans are insufferable like Bama fans are.

Texas was always a sleeping giant…they are killing NIL and it has allowed them to wake up. I assume they win a ring this year or next (probably next when Quinn comes back)

Malachi Nelson, USC (Prediction: South Carolina)

Recently entering the transfer portal, Malachi Nelson has generated significant interest and speculation. Rumors linking USC's interest in Kansas State transfer Will Howard provide insight into the potential motives behind the decision of the former five-star recruit to seek new opportunities and a fresh start. Meanwhile, Spencer Rattler's departure from South Carolina opens up the quarterback competition with LaNorris Sellers, creating an opportunity for Nelson. Intrigued by how Shane Beamer and his staff revitalized Rattler's career post-Oklahoma, Nelson's camp sees USC as a potentially ideal situation on the opposite coast.

I would guess- and it’s just a guess- that Nelson must have bombed in practice all year. With Caleb Williams leaving, you’d think Nelson would have a shot to at least compete for starters role. But…Riley is looking for portal qb tells me Nelson isnt ready and likely will never be if Riley is looking elsewhere.

Tennessee paid millions for their 5 star QB in the same class, but I hear nothing about them looking for portal qb so I assume all is well there,

I am not too worried with the 5 star qbs transferring who haven’t played much (Nelson, Vandagriff) - they likely just are not as good as the rating. It could be they were not a fit for the offense but if super talented they should work anywhere.

You must be having difficulty differentiating a 21 year old college grad transfer from a 17 HS kid. A white Jewish kid from Long Island that attended Ivy League Penn from a young black inner city kid without money that is easily influenced by money and recruiters/handlers in head. They don’t think the same way. We now have a position coach to develop relationships with kids but easier when you have been talking to your position coach for 2 years and have a relationship. We have had 2 DL coaches, 2 LB coaches, 2 secondary coaches, 2 Defensive Coordinators, 2 WR coaches and 2 TE coaches in Billy’s early tenure with the program. Huge position coaching turnover for a new staff.

UGA has had 3 five star QBs transfer out and they have done just fine.

True. I remember Eason and Fields…who was the third?

But Eason was a starter before he transferred. He had proven he could play. Fields…he was good enough/had shown enough to have packages as a true freshman to get him on the field to play.

Vandagriff and Nelson - they never started and if they played at all, it was only during scrub time. Nelson played like 10 snaps as a third stringer and was 1-3 passing. He was alternating between 3rd and 4th team. Vandagriff was at Georgia for 3 seasons and had a total of 21 passes.

Eason- he was good enough to start 12 games in his second season. Showing he was good enough to play power 5 football.

fields got the lesser version of the Tebow treatment his true freshman season. He passed everyone else on the depth chart but the starter, showing he was talented but stuck behind someone else.

So I view Eason and Fields differently since they showed they could play by being the #1 or #2 option immediately. Nelson wasn’t good enough to be second string and Vandagriff showed nothing in 3 years. Just my two cents.
