I am interested to see if we will notice a change in our portal philosophy…we have insisted that players in the portal video drills of themselves and send us a tape for evaluation- even for players with multiple years of game tape available , which slowed down our process compared to others and also turned off some major talents who didn’t see the need to send an eval tape to one school when 20 others didn’t ask for it. This often delayed the player from taking a visit to UF and by the time we evaluated then…poof…they sign elsewhere. Wasn’t always the case but our super duper evaluation process certainly took too long when it seems time is of the essence with high end talent in the portal.

if we haven’t changed things we will likely miss out on major portal talent since the transfer window is even shorter this year. Someone(s) in our army should be constantly evaluating other teams talent, especially teams in which coaches are already fired. We can’t be slow this year.
