Sources (what I read on the internet) say Campbell, the Miami O line transfer, will not be selecting UF. While we could use some experience on the line, I think Campbell stinks at OT so prefer we don’t get him anyway.
Former Baylor OG Micah Mazzccua will announce his transfer destination 0n Tuesday at 8 PM. The final 3 are Nebraska, Auburn and UF, however its believe that Nebraska or Auburn are his leader.
About half of that was in a first year lump sum for Mullen. The rest for him was spread out at $1M per year, so, that's what he's costing us annually at this point. The crazy thing is that I think he got fired within six months after getting a five-year extension. The buyout is bad, but, it really makes the least sense to me to negotiate an extension if you think you're going to fire someone.
We are losing all these needed players. Hopefully we can grab the 2 UGA lineman everyone talked about a year ago.
UF no bueno? “The portal's best available offensive lineman, Matt Lee of UCF is visiting Miami this weekend. Lee recently visited Oklahoma. Per Inside The U, the three-year starter with the Knights and Orlando native has played nearly 2800 snaps over the course of his career and was excellent in 2022, earning a 90.6 pass blocking grade according to Pro Football Focus. Lee didn’t allow a sack or a quarterback hit either, per PFF, and was also a highly efficient run blocking with an 80.6 grade in that regard.”
The extension/time had no effect on buyout. It was written into Mullen's contract from the beginning that it was a flat 12m no matter what. Extending him was just for visibility/stability.
It was the stupidest move ever. Especially seeing the writing on the wall at the beginning of the season. His agent tried to drummed up his contract and no one including the NFL was buying it except Stricklin.
It’s not like he’s the second coming of Godzilla. The real players( Bama, Georgia) aren’t even interested. We seem to be just trying to get a starting five. Maybe we are better off developing the freshman and keeping their bank accounts straight. Watching TCU, I think Los and having the top players there is not optional. Get the top linemen in tge country or accept your fate. You can’t win without Sunday players on both sides of the line. Not one or two , across the board.
Well in this version of college football, you are exactly right. All the top talent is stacked at a handful of schools. NIL just made it worse as I predicted it would.
Asked about his defense, UGA DC Will Muschamp sums it up pretty simple as he loads onto the team bus: “We won up front.”
Another semi. UF had a hat on the table. “South Carolina defensive end transfer Gilber Edmond announced he's transferring to FSU Tuesday, choosing the Seminoles over Florida, LSU and a number of other schools which expressed interest in him.” TheOsceola - Florida State lands South Carolina defensive end transfer Gilber Edmond
