Scheme and they are rocking it!! This kid is solid too. Probably not the way to build a program but their top six or seven players on their team this year were all transfers. So far this year their portal class is extremely good and is definitely the top class in the country.

they’ve picked up number 1 or 2 player at 3 positions in portal last 2-3 weeks.

 

Best players on team this year:
Robinson DB transfer
Betheune LB Transfer
Verse DE Transfer
Wilson Wr Transfer
Benson RB Transfer
Travis QB Transfer
And I’m probably forgetting somebody on the OL that was a good transfer.

With their class they’ve signed so far for 23 it’s the same way very good players that will probably will be some of the best players on their team

 

Most of the starting OL was transfers. Gibbons from ND, Emmanuel from Charlotte, and Turnetine from SC. Bulk of FSU’s talent on the OL is probably still a year away….which is why they got Byers and Roddick, although Roddick is shaky.

They also have Bless Harris who was slated to start at OT before going down early in the season to injury. He’s from UCF.

FSU is positioning itself to put all its chips in to make a playoff run in 23. They didn’t lose any playmakers on offense beyond Pokey Wilson, who was a solid WR. The WR room is still pretty full, and they’ve upgraded the TE room with a couple stars. Still have all the RBs too, and Jordan Travis.

FSU should be fantastic on offense next year. Defense needs to be average or slightly above to be in the playoff discussion.

 

Shrug…no idea why you’d think they wouldn’t be. They scored as much on UF as anyone else did this season.

 

Agreed on all fronts. What Norvell has done in the portal two years in a row is unbelievable. He also evaluated future unproven talent really well. Wilson had done nothing at ASU yet he saw what he could be.

 

We have all this "support staff" and we have some good pick ups, hopefully we can get solid help in areas of need.

 

Some serious Norvell love going on in this thread. Makes you wonder.

Imagine if FSU administration canned him like some UF fans want to do with BN.

2020: 3-6
2021: 5-7
2022: 10-3


Maybe a little patience and support pays off even when things just don’t seem to follow one’s expectations.

 

Well, in full disclosure, I’m an FSU fan. I just like reading fan perspectives for rivals.

Personally I think i have a little more even take than yourself or some of the naysayers here. Obviously Norvell did a great job in the portal when you look at where your productivity came from this year. It was a solid season and I'd take it in a heartbeat but even with all that talent fsu barely held on to beat a pretty bad florida team at home.

I will say the biggest factor going into next year is having most of that same team back with another year of cohesion and experience which can be huge so yes, I see the reason for the optimism. I just think this year could have just as easily had 2 more losses against lsu/florida even with all of those talent upgrades so a little reservation might be warranted as well.

 

Interesting that there is nobody transferring from UF on that list.

 

One list had Collier around 10, which was comical. Think all of these rankings will have to be taken with a grain of salt
