They aren't getting another Robert Cooper type any time soon, so they will have to overspend in the portal.

 

Honestly not ever going to be excited about a transfer unless they were a legit starter (or strong #2) at their previous school. Don’t care about their high school ranking coming out of the portal. If they started or 2nd guy in at the previous school, they have my attention. Otherwise, it’s just depth or we possibly get lucky.

 

Everybody takes portals. Thinking you will get better skimping on hs recruits by spending more money on portals is poor strategy, unless coaches can't develop players. Then by all means load up on 1 year portals.

 

So if he commits to us is that basically proof that we talked to him prior to the portal? Since Edgar blew his load early when the LB was announced?
