Free shoes just got a DT

 

We have been extremely slow on the portal - are we waiting for other players to jump in or just whiffing?

 

Florda, ND, Oklahoma, etc offered, and he chose the ???

 

Still time and players in portal and likely more to come but…a lot of talent getting scooped up in the portal. Some by our rivals. Staff at UF is either in stealth mode and we have no idea they are recruiting some portal targets (I’ve seen less than 6 offers go out) or they are using the Dan Mullen recruiting method on the portal (aka it’s not portal season and take a vacation).

 

Yep, Fiske is a good one. For whatever reason, Norvell does really well in portal.
I know we have DL wise:

Banks- good depth piece
Cam’Ron Harris -Memphis NT rumored to be coming in but not for sure.

would like to see an immediate plug and play guy here or at least someone that can split Reps w Watson.

one Dt in HS recruiting class. One true DT that is. We have to start grabbing 3 DT’s each recruiting class. If not we fall way behind there.

 

Fiske-

Defensive Tackles Coach/Associate Head Coach Odell Haggins recruited him for the Seminoles and head coach Mike Norvell took a very active approach in this recruitment as well as defensive coordinator Adam Fuller who was part of an in-home visit with Fiske. The Seminole staff was one of the schools that started up the contact with Fiske very soon after he entered the portal.
Florida did not make his final 3. Notre Dame, and USC were other two. This is FSU’s second big DL pickup as they picked up Darrell Jackson from Miami 2 weeks ago.
Florida State ranks #1 in portal recruiting edging Michigan out for top spot.

 

Seems like he needs to work on himself.

 

1. Hudson Card to Purdue.

2. DE from Wake Bothroyd 14.5 sacks last two years just entered portal.

3. Micah Mazzccua OG Baylor deciding 1/8

we need numbers 2 and 3. Both are immediate plug and play guys.

But our Army is observing and taking notes. I’m officially concerned

 

We have allowed FSU to pass us and is a more attractive destination. These transfer guys wanna win now. No time for a rebuild program

 

Them relying on the portal means they have to do this every year. It isn’t sustainable. Let Norvell buy himself a few more years, it serves us well.

 

The CMU DT said they reached out soon after he hit the portal. Why isn't our ARMY doing the same?

we gotta remember that these players need to fit our system too. The WF DE is listed as 265 and as we saw this past season, undersized DE's in a 3-4 is asking to get ran over
