I get the sense from things I’ve heard that the staff is really targeting the proven commodities through the portal. Guys that don’t need to be developed. Which makes sense. Not that we won’t take a couple …but I think those that are just hoping we recreate the 2021 or 22 class based off HS rankings might be disappointed.
So in other words 60% of those guys opted out of their paid for education? I'm guessing a lot of those transfer portal players were walk-on's somewhere else.
But if we replace the youth that transfers out with upper classman, that will lead to another major issue down the line. The youth from this incoming class is already factored in
As mentioned, the transfers out are players that are buried on the depth chart. These guys didn’t look to contribute unfortunately anytime soon.
Not sure we want or need him, but you never know whom the coaches might want... Jack Bech, LSU, Tight End
I know. But these people were *expected* to contribute. Meaning we can’t replace them all with upperclassmen. We need to replace them with people of close to the same class, for the numbers to balance out in a few years when they graduate. For example if we replaced the 20 freshman/sophomores with juniors and seniors, that means all 20 of them will be gone in 2 years at most, rather than 3 or 4 or even 5 years. If we did that and they were all gone in 2 years, that means our incoming freshman class would be only sophomores as they’re leaving. point being, our transfers can’t all be upper class men for future number sake
Yeah, the Dan Mullen method. For every greenard there are 5 lingards But, when the opportunity arises to pick apart A&Ms class, who already got paid and now want to play….rats jumping off of a sinking ship….you do so. Use the portal at opportune times rather than relying on it every year
