Transfer Portal Thread (Other Schools)

The schools are powerless unless they ban together but the problem there is then they will be sued under anti-trust and collusion laws.

 

At some point scholarships will become negotiable employee contracts.

 

For NIL, a company can make an offer to whomever they chose, it won't matter what school they are currently enrolled in. IE if EA sports makes NIL deals all across the landscape, they don't care what school the kid is in. As far as enticing a kid to leave his current school to go to another it still won't matter for a company, they aren't part on the NCAA. They could simply say for this NIL to be good you need to live full time in x city or something sketchy like that.

 

It’s gonna get messy. I see kids getting sued for cashing checks and reneging on their transfers/commitments.

 

Yep, kids have to be careful and have good agents.

 

I’m sure any rule limiting such contact doesn’t extend to handlers and agents. Just a guess though.

 

UM FR LB Deshawn Troutman has enter the transfer portal. Also enter the portal its Florida A&M LB Isaiah Thomas. Thomas led college Football in sacks in 2021 with 19, however he has only one year of eligibility.

 

Doesn’t look like we are taking anyone from transfer portal.
