I’m seeing multiple posts on Twitter that Amarius Mims is entering the portal. He was a 5 star OL recruit for uga I believe in last years class.

FSU or Miami since the SEC still has that one year sit out rule for inter conference transfers or do they since Ricks and Burton are now at Bama? Hmmm

SEC passes rule allowing immediate eligibility for intraconference transfers starting in 2021 season

Appears that players can transfer intra-conference with immediate eligibility now in the SEC, but, there is apparently a cut-off date. Looks like players must declare by 01 February per this link. I believe Truesdell did it from Auburn here last year, but, as a graduate transfer. Kimber is also identified on 247 as immediately available from UGA this year, though.

 

Just made it Official along with another Uga 5* OL Clay Webb. Could OL coach leaving allow a waiver with these players? Probably not. A lot of smoke for Mims to Miami because of SEC rule.

 

Been several posts downplaying the “sec rule” angle. He can transfer within the conference.

I think not releasing a kid to go wherever he wants would be difficult for a coach to enforce when recruiting the next year.
