Would have to get a release of commitment I believe. Not sure of the process but coaches must know.

I think you can quit if you pay back the costs for the time there.

My nephew at West Point had a classmate on the football team. They coached him into gaining weight so he could play better at his lineman position. Once he gained the weight he could not satisfy the 12 minute run and they kicked him out of school. They made him pay for the portion of his education he had received.

I don't think he did much of anything in a UF jersey. If I'm thinking right he was relegated to STs. No hate on the guy, but he's not SEC quality. Maybe a Gump LB will gives us a look?!

He did play a ton at LB last few weeks as injuries mounted. Was ok at it.

Got an update from my West Point nephew. You can walk away without commitment before you start the 3rd year.

Good info phat. And, that sounds like quite the Catch-22 on your nephew's weight dilemma.

It wasn’t my nephew but someone in his class. My nephew graduated and finished med school and is now an Army doctor.

I do think the Army did that guy wrong for making him pay back his education when it was their instigation that got him in trouble.

This dude didn’t play much last year. Maybe we can talk him into a PWO kinda thing to help lead. I’m not sure.

Don’t they all transfer in as Juniors anyway?

If so he’ll be injured the whole time at UF but miraculously have a great NFL career.

seems a trend for some of our transfers the past two years. Had better prior years but lost playing time to other players /became back ups before coming to Uf. (Moten, T Mitchell, Bridges, etc).

could be he was hurt some last year?

Yes, he did not play while recovering from two hand injuries last year. Would have been their starter otherwise. Makes the Anzalone comments above very relatable.
