Transfer Portal Thoughts

Oh I guess that makes it more impressive. I understand he's the #1 portal WR currently but I don't really care about skill players right now. Give me some beef, especially with what we are losing with flips.

Agreed, but there is a giant donut hole at WR between Ricky and the young promising receivers that would be nice to get filled with some cream. It would be nice to pick up 1 good WR here that has 1 or 2 years of eligibility left.

UF and UGA eventually passed on him first time around, not sure anything has changed in that regard

 

Depends on who else transfers, I can see us taking 2 if the right ones become available.

 

Good start and nice addition but I’d prefer linemen. Get some oline, much more needed.

 

We have to get them, not go after them. Mertz isn’t the type of qb that can play up to his potential with a suspect line.we need a couple started on oline and not warm bodies.Hopefully Harris takes a leap next year.

 

I think we need to be looking at teams like A&M and picking their roster apart for our needs. It takes unique circumstances for good O lineman to transfer and a coaching change could definitely be one.

I would be curious as to how many committed ATM recruits have flipped since their coach was fired. I don't follow A&M carefully, so I'm wondering what a top $$ program would experience after canning their coach.

Is this after you consider who is still committed to us for 2024? Or... something is it else.

 

Caleb Douglas was IMO our biggest playmaker at WR before his injury. People seem to be forgetting he was winning 1v1's downfield consistently.

 

OL, LB and they have to be above replacement. We don't need JAG's at those positions, we need studs. Everything else is whatever to me, take the best on the board. "Projects" and "depth" to me are no thanks this year.

 

He should be back from injury for our bowl game.

 

We can’t count on freshmen to play in the front seven or offense of line.

 

IMO where we need immediate help, I don't assume class of 24 kids can adequately provide that

 

Nope, some important transfers must take place for us to shore up our O-line... Or players already on our team have to get better fast, including the ones NOT yet playing for us in games... young O-lineman.
