Trace has his 24/7 page. On3 was updated. No rating yet, but has multiple D-1 offers.
And his 2023 season stats have been uploaded

Seems to be a dual sport player like his old man as well, but the MLB-caliber baseball genes don't seem to have carried over from him. He mainly seems to come in as a relief hitter from his stats.

Admittedly that's gonna be a really deep roster over there as Buchholz baseball was a state title finalist this year so maybe he just got buried in the lineup and with more chances can bring his numbers up to being a D-I prospect. They do churn out a lot of those over there.

    A few updates
On3 now lists Trace Johnson as "interested" in Florida, but both 24/7 and On3 pages don't list an offer for him from UF. Hoping that changes along with a rating soon. He also now has offers from West Virginia and Wake Forest, his first power 5 offers.

With one more game to play to match the 2023 season total, he has already thrown for more than 200 more yards than he did his sophomore campaign. (3083 vs 2844) with 4 less interceptions (9 vs 13). I 100% think he's going for 3500 yards if they make a deep enough run next year, and 4000 isn't off the table. I also expect SEC offers to start rolling in by spring of next year.

But his biggest accomplishment so far might be getting Buchholz back to the state Final Four for the fourth straight year. Because most of the stars from last year on offense and defense were gone like Myles Graham. The O-line which was the hidden gem of last years team was gutted with most of the starters being seniors. In addition, the FHSAA destroyed the new classification system that helped create new divisions for South Florida schools which have a distinct funding and "recruiting" pool advantage, meaning Buchholz had to face a class that was almost twice as big with said schools. Yet somehow, they are right back where they were last year. THAT might be the biggest feather in his cap so far. Because last year could be attributed to having 4-5 D-1 prospects on both sides of the ball including basically a five star on both sides. This year the supporting cast was much more bare, the competition more fierce, yet they found a way.

Buchholz faces Osceola this Thursday with a berth in the state title game on the line. Game will be broadcast on NFHS network and a good chance it finds its way to youtube.

QB Hit List has him ranked now as the #57 Pro style QB in the 2026 Class with a 3 star rating. Right about where I predicted his first evals would end up. I suspect he has a real chance to pop into the top 50 and a 4-star rating if Buchholz makes it to the state title game with all the scouting eyes that come with that game. (I also would expect several more offers to be extended on the spot)

Knocked off my Pace Patriots in a slugfest. Rooting for him and his team going forward.
