Priorities. The FBI and Justice Department are focused on more ways to implicate a former President and candidate for election for being Orange.

Yes. Since only 7 people work at the FBI, they can only focus on one task at a time.

Why in the hell would a 21-year-old be trusted with top secret information? That blows my mind.

I got out of video games when Discord was first becoming a thing, but was never a fan of the format. Give me my basic ass Ventrilo any day of the week, lol.

Are you implying that the old boomers are any better with it, hiding it in their pool houses and garages?

That is actually preferable to posting it online. But your point is otherwise solid

Security is inconvenient as everyone wants info now. Plus people are too lazy to maintain safeguards . The IT groups get upset when you lock them out of servers ;)
Just bizarre that everything isn’t more compartmentalized with alarms for access and more alarms for print. Incompetence.

I did read somewhere that one of the group members had additional material that he would release if the original leaker was arrested. TBD I guess.

The answer to that is eventually. It depends on how raw the intel is. Sometimes, we don’t mind sharing the intel, but we need to refine it so it is not clear how we got the intel. A good example was MAGIC during WW2. We were reading all of Japan’s diplomatic communications, and sometimes we would pass the information to our allies, but we were not about to tell them how we were getting in order to reduce the chances that Japan would figure it out and change their codes.

Yep. He was happy to put most of that information into the aether, but he was not about to let his own people know just how bad the “special military operation” is going.

I would call that an unwise move. You can be guilty of the Espionage Act even if you don’t have a clearance and aren’t the original enemy agent. But as Sun Tzu would often say, “[Fool] around and find out.”

I read a piece that discussed how the leak was causing five eyes partners to be reluctant to continue to share. It read like some of the info that was leaked came from others. Sorry but can't recall the article.

you would think that the poster would know by now that they ahd the names of everybody in the group so unless he had relocated to a non-extradition country he would be reluctant to die on that hill
