By BIDEN, for starters, and the DNC. He reiterated this in the article I sent.

My 2 weeks was referencing the debate. Not anything that you said.

And how are the right wing conspiracy nuts...mine? Have i not been pretty clear in calling those out?

It has been obvious to just about everyone that Biden has been slipping. His staff has been hiding him either in the White House or in his Delaware residence. Here are some of the things that people notice:
    • Lack of press conferences,
    • Always uses note cards or teleprompter when speaking,
    • Did not do the Super Bowl halftime interview,
    • Even when using teleprompter will read the directions, for example, Pause, wait for applause, etc.
It was pretty obvious his staff was keeping him from doing any off the cuff speaking because that would show everyone his decline. The debate forced him to speak without notes or teleprompter and we all saw what happened.

Sure. Youre the same type of guy who will say "See, I told you, a recession!" After predicting it every day for 4 years until it eventually arrives.

By your definition Trump is slipping but no one is talking about it.

But even back then, he didn't rule out running for a second term. At this point, it sounds like he's accepting he should pass the baton. So that's positive movement.

May have to change the title of the thread.

President Biden may soon exit race, top Democrats believe (axios.com)

Several top Democrats privately tell us the rising pressure of party congressional leaders and close friends will persuade President Biden to decide to drop out of the presidential race, as soon as this weekend.

Why it matters: The 81-year-old president, now self-isolating with COVID, remains publicly dug in. But privately he's resigned to mounting pressure, bad polls, and untenable scrutiny making it impossible to continue his campaign, the Democrats tell us.

Behind the scenes: The private message, distilled to its bluntest form: The top leaders of his party, his friends and key donors believe he can't win, can't change public perceptions of his age and acuity, and can't deliver congressional majorities.

    • The president is being told that if he stays in, former President Trump could win in a landslide and wipe away Biden's legacy and Democrats' hopes in November.

I agree - they almost HAVE to run her even if they are convinced she can’t win. Or A large segment of the base needed to win downballot and in 2028 could stay home.

Oh! I am a conservative Republican and will be Voting Trump/Vance. I just see one human from another that feels bad for someone who is used until it suits them.

I don't know how anybody could conclude she can't win. Polling certainly doesn't show an out of reach race. She certainly could lose. But she's also very capable of winning.

I think what we’re witnessing now is a full on frontal assault on conservatism,” said Marc Short, who served as chief of staff to Vice President Mike Pence from 2019 to 2021, who is so estranged from this new version of the party that he was advised to skip the convention. “And you can look at the platform walking away from issues like life and traditional marriage, embracing tariffs across the board, but I feel like yesterday and last night went a step further when you have speakers that are basically saying NATO was at fault for Putin’s invasion of Ukraine, and referring to job creators as ‘corporate pigs’ and denouncing national right to work.”

She is not a very likable candidate. I think she lacks charisma, as well. But, that’s just my opinion.

Without context, your snippet is worthless. He was POTUS, and may very well be again.

The context could easily be a projected hypo quote from when he was POTUR or will be again (with inherent caveat of assuming he wins).

Fortunately for her she'd be running against someone who is also extremely unlikeable. She just has to be credibly 'normal' in comparison.

That is rich coming from the goobers who just posted Biden was trying to kiss someone because he was standing up. Go find the context. He read his own name like a moron.

Just stop, nobody used Biden, he is president of the United States. And he deserves to enjoy the rest of his life. His family should be the ones telling him to take it easy, not the other way around.

    I get your point.
But if the dem party is convinced he can’t effectively run against Trump and can’t win they should keep him anyway? out of obligation?

should a hospital keep a doctor operating eventhough it’s agreed the doc can’t perform effectively? But he can continue out of obligation and loyalty because he was effective for years?

i agree it’s sad, like many here I’ve seen it. but who’s responsibility does that fall on if the person refuses to quit? If a grandparent refuses to relinquish their car keys even if it’s feared others could be at risk.

this decision isn’t only about Biden. It’s not like he wants to pick up smoking but we won’t let him. The decision impacts 100s of millions of other people.
