I was sick for that game and gave my ticket away to a good Gator.

I have a better one, but it was high school. I was there.

Same rules with no three point shot and no shot clock.

    Illinois High School tournament.

Regional Finals (only two divisions in high school ball back then and this was the "big school" division) between Lockport Central and Joliet Central being played at Joliet Central's gym. Joliet Central was up 6 with about 25 seconds to play. Over the loudspeakers it was announced how Joliet Central fans could buy their Super-Sectional tickets.

Lockport Central won in regulation: Quick basket, steal of the inbounds for a basket, steal of another inbounds for a basket to tie the game, rebound of a missed shot and another score.

But winning was only a stay of execution. The winner had to play Thornridge who was the defending Illinois state champs and were undefeated. They were led by Quinn Buckner. He was a key piece on the 1976 Indiana team that was undefeated.

Great game that I will never forget.

Actually I was no longer a Lockport Central student as I had left earlier to go to college, but I attended this game and stood along the endline to watch it.

Anyone mention AR - Anthony Roberson shot, top of the key to win one as I recall? Anyone remember the specifics?

Often overlooked fact - had to beat Michigan 4 times that undefeated season.

One of those games, IU won an absolute miracle game with a put in of an intentionally missed free throw and Tom Benson tap in.

This is off topic, but Jason's performance against UK was one of the best ever for me in UF's basketball history.
Speaking of, what is mr. Williams doing today?

THe most important one was Miller's shot in the first round NCAA tournament.

I believe that was against Georgia. This is my memory: Tie game, so any score would have won it. Peep took it down, did a little shake, and just fired up a long three at the buzzer. Swish.

They didn’t outnumber us. They showed the buckeye fans on tv a lot but there was more orange and blue in the crowd and it got louder when UF made positive plays. They still had a great showing of fans they have a lot of retired alum down there.

I think that it was only three times as there was no Big Ten tournament then.

Another trivia fact IIRC. First time that the Final Four had two teams from the same conference.

Sorry - gratuitous personal sports story. In 2002 our community league softball team in Tampa went 0'fer the season. I think it was seven or eight games and we lost 'em all. Fast forward to the tournament, where we were paired with the #1 seed . . . and beat them. The #2 seed got knocked out of the other bracket. We went on to the championship game and won. When we showed up at the Red Dog (south Tampa sports bar) with the championship hats on, everyone was like "what the heck?" :D

Since your initial post doesn't mention the win has to be a buzzer beater that opens the possibilities for many other games. For instance in no particular order.....
    1. NC game against OSU
    2. NC game against UCLA
    3. The UK game at home that Dupay jumped up on the scorers desk after the game
    4. The LSU game at home that Dwayne Davis outplayed Shaq and Stanley Roberts
    5. The NCAA tourney game against Georgetown that Corey Brewer hit that falling out of bounds flip shot while getting fouled with 27 seconds to play
    6. The NCAA tourney game against UConn and the missed FTs with seconds on the clock
    7. 2006 SECT Champs over SC with Noah hitting the go ahead on a offensive rebound then followed it up with a block at the other end to seal it
    8. 2011 NCAAT OT win against BYU that Alex Tyus played his best game as a Gator and ended the Jimmer Fredette run
    9. 2014 SEC Tourney win and the Gators going undefeated in the SEC beating UK 61-60 and their 3rd win of the season over UK

ALL AWESOME as I recall but let me define - end of game buzzer beater!

Tough to top CP's 70' against NC State but Tyree's most recent one was fantastic IMO.

Yeah I reread your OP twice and no where did it say only buzzer beaters, only top 5 wins. You might want to add that back in. I'll be glad to delete mine if that's all you want.

I thought that it was implied that this was Top 5 dramatic wins. One's that get you yelling for joy.

I was at the UConn/UF Sweet Sixteen game where AD fouled Donyell Marshall with very little time left and a tied score and he bricked them both. I even remember that Ted Hillary called the foul.

Him missing the two free throws was a sigh of relief and then we took over in OT to win easily.

I would say that the James Madison player dribbling off his foot at the end of the game in the first round that year was equivalent.
