Hope he doesn't go down the Farve road of unretiring half a dozen times. Enjoyed and hated his career. Patriots were the Darth Vadors of the league after all. Thanks Tom, now stay retired.
Seems like I’ve heard this song before. He’s been a great player over the years, no denying that. But I think he will serve himself and his legacy well by leaving now.
45 years old? I think he got about as much out of his body as he can. Will he go to the broadcast booth? Or will he really retire?
Hated him in New England, loved him with the Bucs. But, cannot deny his greatness. I hope he doesn't get the itch again, for his sake. I realize there are still options with potential contenders (Las Vegas, Tennessee, etc.) but despite his stats, his arm looked weaker and he had some really bad games too. But judging from taht video, it appears to be genuine this time.
Don't know how he will do in the booth for Fox. But he will be hard pressed to replace Greg Olsen. GO is the best announcer working today.
Agree. I read several years ago after he died where someone close to him said that he had to keep fighting because he was basically broke in the late 70’s. Turns out that Tyson was the one who spoke up and spilled the beans, but King had done the same thing to Ali and Holmes. Not exonerating Ali, because he did agree to some bad deals with King and he spent money poorly. Holmes managed his money much better.
