On the heels of Florida’s best regular season in seven years, UF coach Todd Golden has agreed to a two-year contract extension. The deal extends Golden through the 2029-30 season. Golden was hired in March 2022 on a six-year deal worth $18 million after leading San Franciso to its first NCAA Tournament in 24 years. He now has the Gators set to make the Big Dance for first time in three years. Florida’s 21 regular season wins are the team’s most since 2016-17. UF also won its final eight SEC home games, the team’s longest SEC home win streak since posting a program-record 20 in a row from 2013-15. Looks like Todd gets another million+ each year (over $4 million contract) plus two additional years. Now just win baby!!!
This is where I was hoping he'd land. He should be about top 6-ish in the SEC (and most importantly - higher than CMW) and around top 15 in the nation. Way to show appreciation, Strikline!
I am much more confident in this extension than the previous ones in basketball and football. Most (if not all) we've been burned by. This is CTG's team just 2 years into his tenure. These are his players, his system and style. You can't point to success derived from previous staffs and their experienced players. He organized this team in the new landscape of recruiting and portal. If he can maintain this then Florida (and Stricklin) can finally hang their hat on a heck of a hire.

I recall some poster (maybe called BlueSuave or something like that) posting that Donovan to UK was a done deal. Maybe we might see him posting here again in a few years.
Beard, Paris and now Golden got extensions and good raises. I think you definitely have a point. Gotta pay them if you wanna keep em.
Golden can now sell portal kids on both individual and team success. First year portal kids started and he produced a first team and second team all SEC selections. Had an all freshman team selection as well that should step into Tyrese’s shoes next year. Has to get lucky with portal again, as loses key pieces of his team.
I am really please with the way he has built and led this team. I am a little apprehensive because it seems that every time we give a coach an extension, things go to crap.
Deserving! Keep this train rolling TG. Seems like a diamond in the rough. Great find! I don’t know the man personally but watching MW last night and just seems so arrogant. Same dude and body language we saw here. Doesn’t really seem to work for him. Not good enough to look and act that arrogant. Just one man’s opinion though and wish him the best.
