It's either a win for free speech, a win for Chinese spies, and/or further proof Trump will ignore the law and other branches of government, depending on where you stand.

I think the tiktok ban was dumb in the first place. I'm told that since it came back, the algorithm seems to be pushing pro-Trump stuff, which is turning off the young crowd that used to love it. Makes me wonder if that was part of the "deal".

Chyna Don to the rescue. What won't he do to sell out American security to secure personal business partners for the future? Although as a user of the app I appreciate the freedom to give my data to the CCP at as my decision.

I'm sort of thinking they are just never going to enforce the law, take no action to repeal it and just hope people forget about it lol

Roadmap for the Trump administration. Enforce what he wants and ignore the laws passed by congress. Should be fun to watch.

One of the problems with electing a criminal to be in charge is that there's no reason to give any benefit of the doubt on the rare occasions that he's not breaking the law.

Hahahahahaha - who are we kidding? That guy is ALWAYS breaking the law. The billionaire founder of TikTok, and probably the CCP, most likely had to invest $billions in Trump Coin, and maybe Melania Coin. It was a straight transaction. That's what criminals do.

The only thing the new algorithm has been feeding me is non-stop Drake and Jalen Hurts videos. Kind of good because I couldn’t care less about either of them and have been busy at work.

    Less time wasted…

Keeping in mind that he originally supported the ban Trump did a complete 180 on the Tiktok ban for two reasons. First and probably most significantly one of his major contributors was a shareholder in ByteDance the Chinese parent company of the platform and secondly, Trump realized that the pro-Trump posts on the platform may have been a factor in his victory in the election. I also agree that there may have very well been a quid pro quo in which TikTok altered its algorithm in return for Trump's decision not to ban the platform or more specifically not to enforce the law mandating the banning of the platform.

Just one more “you deserve it” point. If your society fails because of a platform that mostly shows teenagers mimicking other teenagers dancing, where was your society to begin with?
