Our man Sully has a strong history of developing first rate pitchers. "Throw strikes." Is his repeated mantra. That said, what is wrong with our staff, certainly relievers? I'm hardly a pitching expert. I'll put that on the table. What gives?
My joke that I make over and over again is that the secret to pitching is to throw strikes as far away from the bat as possible. There is a kernel of truth to that. One way to get far away from the bat is to fool the batter with location. The other way is to fool them with speed. If you fool them with both the batter just looks silly.
I’ll take a poke at this: there are some others that need opportunities to show what they do or don’t have. The problem is we are relying on a couple that not only struggled last year towards the end but are struggling again and Mightily.
