And now with only 4 undefeated teams left.....tonight we'll see one of them (Oklahoma) in action against (8-2) #24 Michigan in Charlotte....as part of the Jumpman Invitational.

The Wolverines are a 3.5 point fav so might be worth keeping an eye on this one. 9pm on ESPN2.

 

Sooners are 10-0 but KenPom doesn't like them: #38. Schedule strength ranks at #314 out of 364. Ouch.

 

The Sooners did play some really crappy teams but they did play and beat Arizona (KenPom 30) on a neutral floor. Not sure how they are #30 though with their record. Maybe playing UCLA close in a loss?

Bama tied at North Dakota with 2 minutes left.

 

Bama pulls it out in front of about 800 people.

 

Michigan....up by three with possession. Fail to get a score. 23 seconds left and Oklahoma with the ball now. You don't foul them here?

Of course not. You let them score a trey AND ONE.....and then go on to LOSE the freaking game!

The takeaway from this game is Bama's Grant Nelson is from North Dakota and played most of his basketball there, so a chance for him to pay in front of family and friends. I think that's why they accepted this game on their schedule in the first place.

Tip of the hat to North Dakota for giving Bama a game and a half though!

BTW...Bama will not be the same team they were before they lost Wrightsell for the season. He was the 2nd best scorer incl 3 pointers. One player absolutely can make a difference in a team's destiny as we saw a few years back.

 

Gotta get ready to play, no matter who the competition is. Bama clearly took this too lightly.

After trailing most of the game, UNC pulls out the 1-point win over #18 UCLA.
Still a high Quad-1 win for UF.

UK’s strength and problem is that they are an old team. Early in the year that served them well, but everyone else has higher upside as the season goes on. We will see how good they are comparatively in a few months.

 

UK got bludgeoned in the paint. OSU shot 26-38 (just under 70%).

 

Nothing beats a good college basketball ending.

 

That trip to Rupp all of a sudden seems a bit more manageable. Gonna be very tough, but winnable for sure.
