I mean there is probably a good reason stand up comedy is not typically on the menu at an official campaign event

We don’t have to vote for a serial killer to oppose Trump. Instead it’s a current VP, former Senator, former Attorney General for California, and former DA for San Francisco. Easy choice.

DL Hughley had his chance at the convention and didnt do honkey jokes so I guess its all hypothetical, but Harris is running a disciplined campaign, they wouldnt even let a Palestinian Democrat speak for fear of going off script.

    Nothing "unintentional" about it.

If some wealthy black guy or celebrity comedian did this at a political rally (made jokes about “honkeys”), it would definitely be racist.

That’s the thing about race jokes, they are never going to come across well to decent people if it appears to be punching down or mean spirited. Very few have the talent to pull it off and it better include some self deprecating aspects (this is why the Dave Chappelle Show type humor worked, it was risque but he had some self deprecating black humor paired with mocking actual racists and rednecks so at least he hit both sides). I didn’t see this dude’s whole act and honestly never heard of him, but that line on Puerto Rico was not even really a joke, it was pretty much just a straight up insult at Puerto Rico (and lame as hell, a 3rd grader could write that “joke”).

To clarify. I was not insinuating she would allow something like that, just that if she did, libs would still vote for her.

    Thats just the truth.

AOC with insightful commentary on last night’s rally. I agree with every word she said.

I get it. Since you can’t “both sides” it you are hypothetically “both siding” it. Solid.

Side note, its a sad reflection on what comedy has become. It's lazy. It lacks intellectual thought. Take out the racist components and you still end up with what you accurately call 3rd grade humor

I feel the same way about language. If you cant be funny without an endless string of F bombs than you just arent funny.(Looking at you Dane Cook)

It's why I think guys like Nate Bargatze, Demerti Martin and Jim Gaffigan are so talented.

Guys like Carlin while vulgar where still smart and funny, but most today are just shock jocks

Fair enough. It's still true. People on this board have all but said so in the past with anyone but Trump posts... And frankly I get it. Trump is bad enough that if I were liberal, a bad couple of jokes wouldnt sway me either.

No biggie. Trump isnt my "side" anyway So when I discuss both sides, I really fall one neither at this point.

Its just worse and worse by his camp every day.

And be honest City, I say way more stuff taking shots at Trump than I do Kamala. I disagree with Kamala's political positions, but find her 1000x better human being than Trump.

I guess I should have just limited my criticism to Zac as opposed to the entire Gannett News service.
