In fairness they arent voting for the comedian and Trumps people have publicly criticized the remarks, but the absolutely terrible judgement of even letting the guy in the building is something that should concern them deeply, but Trump is Teflon.

Fair, but lets be honest, If a rogue comedian told a "honkey" joke at a Dem rally, dems would still vote for her. Heck Kathy Griffin still gets fund raiser invites.

The bigger issue is that this is where we are as a country. People on the left would vote for a serial killer to keep Trump away, and we already know what many on the right will sadly vote for.

What happened at MSG was unexcusable to me, but people are going to vote for team first.

I cant believe that the party I once called home allowed that to happen.

    We are screwed.

"Rogue" in what way? Somebody from the campaign loaded his teleprompter. He was on the schedule. The speech wasn't impromptu. He was a planned speaker who gave a planned speech. What was "rogue" about it?

99% chance that every speaker at that event had their remarks approved by the campaign.

1% chance that they didn't which would then be rank incompetence by the campaign.

That's an unfair analogy. If the choice were someone even more extreme than say Rashida Tlaib (say calling for the deaths of Israelis worldwide because of Palestinian atrocities committed for a fictitious example) going up against a Larry Hogan type, I would either vote Hogan or just skip that line on the ballot.

Disagree… What about a non-scientific poll? If you are a dem voter, pop this post with a neg rating so Tilly can see all the Dems who wouldn’t vote for a serial killer. I need some neg ratings.

No idea, but do comedians use prompters?
That would certainly change things a bit.

Sorry man. Had to do it - you were just asking for it. Hope you will accept graciously from this former Republican and current NPA who voted Dem this time.

But would you vote for Harris over Trump if a comedian did the reverse at her rally?

My guess is most would, and frankly I understand why, based on ideology. Thats why so many hold their noses to vote as it is.

Thats what I am trying to get at.

JFC, the double standards with how y’all expect a Dem candidate to act like and what you excuse away with Trump Co is sickening..

Yea, the main problem with hiring a comedian to make racially charged jokes of non-white citizens that Trump wants to govern, is the reaction..

Some folks don’t vote for a personality but rather against the progressive dogma.

Unintentionally, you actually nailed what's been going on for years wrt Trump.

Trump supporters excuse his grotesquery on a case-by-case basis. And once they've excused something, it no longer exists to them.

And THAT is how we end up with the most reprehensible, clearly racist, sexually assaulting criminal in modern American history.

Good points. It’s no accident he was chosen as a speaker. I’m not familiar with him, but he appears to have a record of crude and toxic rhetoric, including an openly racist attack on an Asian American comedian who introduced him. The Trump team knew what they were signing up for and welcomed this type of discourse as part of the evening’s tone. Granted, they may not have anticipated such overt racism. I sure hope not.

You would have been a better comedian than who Trump picked, but don’t quit your day job :D

Keep up the good work for humanity!

Dilemma: The “we’re totally not racists, guyz” love racist jokes mocking minorities. They don’t love being the butt end of jokes or self deprecating humor. Don’t you get this yet?

But yes, I definitely think the GOP’s next move should be to send in a comedian intentionally mocking midwestern women! :emoji_joy:
