1.) You don’t even know if it is waste, 2.) Elon very clearly left off critical information in his post to create a false narrative which you shamelessly perpetuate, and 3.) this contract was let during Trump’s administration meaning his call to give back the money is bordering on slapstick comedy.

 

I can't wait till we get to the part that shows how these Liberal politicians made multiple millions of dollars on a $170K or $190K salary. That's when I get the big bag of pop-corn.

 

Nobody's perfect but I'm not sure what you're talking about. Benz is the #1 IUSAID expert talking to the public about the agency's corruption. USAID carries out operations for the State Dept, Pentagon and CIA. The US needs "soft power" but USAID has gone way beyond that. It rigs elections, engaged in censorship, opposes many populist candidates, controls media around the world, It'been employing these tactics on US citizens. Obviously I SAID has to be reined in.

If not for Mike Benz this story would not have broken the way it did.

While I wouldn't say it's never had happened the notion that legislators improperly enriched themselves on a legislator's salary is largely a myth. Nancy Pelosi has long been the poster woman of a legislator who became wealthy on the public payroll while the reality is that her husband is a successful real estate developer and venture capitalist and that she had a high net worth before she ever ran for public office. The same is probably true for most other wealthy legislators. They either were very successful in the private sector before they ran for office, had wealthy spouses or had inherited wealth. Although it's a different albeit related issue there is a real problem with former legislators receiving very high salaries or fees working as lobbyists after they leave office, Billy Tauzin being a prime example. He chaired the House Committee that wrote the legislation prohibiting Medicare from negotiating drug prices, left Congress and was hired to head the Pharmaceutical Trade Association at a salary estimated at $2 million a year.
