I’m eating a lot of crow of that one.. it honestly don’t taste to bad at this point. I want to say this team is Destined but don’t want to jinx it..
I'm lining up to take my serving of crow on this one. Never again will I doubt what this baseball team can do. This crow never tasted so good. Go Gators!
Been watching Gator baseball for a long time. It’s still my favorite sport/team. These guys are playing polar opposite from when I made that comment. I never played sports but now have learned that Sully teams can never be counted out. Really happy for these guys. I guess you want to be playing your best at the end of the year. This team Is finishing strong and it’s fun to be in here enjoying it with the others. Go Gators..
I’m just dropping by to see who shows up for the dinner. Based on page one, it should be a murderous level meal!
Nice that you're here acknowledging you were a bit off before. However, you having not played sports is telling here, I think. You missed being in the heat of battle and learning that it's 100% true that you fight to the end because you never know what can happen in sports. End of the game as well as the end of the season or any tournament. Fight to the end. That's one of the most important lessons learned from playing sports, along with never try to tackle Bo Jackson.
All you crow eaters, don't try to show up now and demonstrate that you are good guys so that you can be invited back into polite society. You remain banned from all positive fan activities until next season.
This looked like big boy CBSB today and UF has not looked outmatched by anyone they've faced to date in the NCAAs. This currently looks like a young team that is growing up at a very opportune moment. The competitive spirit and poise under pressure that this team has developed during the home stretch is a very pleasant surprise. GG!
I agree, with one small caveat though. I hope Cags can find his pitching chops again, it seems like it's been a while since he had a decent start. I'm not expecting him to go 7 or more innings but we've been leaning on the bullpen a bit much. Neely has been gold in relief for us!
He did ok today. Not great but he got us more than halfway through the 6th and only gave up 4, leaving the mound with us ahead. If the bats are doing what they’re capable of, that will put us in a position to win more often than not.
Something about this team made me had to see more. Maybe it was because they never quit even in some of those tough losses; maybe it was because they battled to secure a series win when they needed it most in Athens. But I couldn't wait to get to Stillwater, and even when they dropped to the loser's bracket, I still wanted to see what they had left in their tanks and how they were going to fight. That became the most fun regional I've ever been to; and we made the absolute most of the Stillwater scene. But then they went to Clemson, presumably by this point, anybody who had given up on them earlier were at least willing to give them a chance. It just seems like there's always a new hero ready to step up and keep this ride going. It's a TON of fun, and I wish I could spend the full time out in Omaha for whatever this team has left to offer, but man, I'm grateful for one of the most fun postseason rides to date. I know we all hope they can keep it going. It's looked "too tough" for a while now, but that doesn't seem to get in these boys' way. Can't wait to see what's next! Go GATORS! ,WESGATORS
Threads like this should serve as cautionary tales much broader than mere sport. When the OP wrote the first post it sure seemed like a valid observation. But as with life, history, war, politics, “It’s complicated.” Because it deals with the nature of the human experience. We assume what we see is all there is to know. Clearly there were many many more factors percolating through his team, this season. Not to mention, because it is sport, every team we have faced has the same complexity. Sully’s track record should have earned him more confidence from we, the fans, IMO. I admit I failed to see what I expected to,see from him in he regular season but it would appear there was work being done by him and others to have these guys ready to achieve their potential.
Yes because everyone here thought this team at 28-27 was headed to Omaha. I'm sure you did too. Did the coaches do a good job during the regular season finishing a game over .500? No. Have they done an incredible job in the last five games? Absolutely. Both can be true.
They won big series against good teams during the season. I wouldn’t say I expected this but I’m not surprised either.
